with fallout: new vegas each main dlc raises the cap by 5, for a total of level 50.
fallout 3 however only has one dlc that raise the cap by 10. "Broken Steel"
i've been playing fallout 4 and im over 200 hrs in now...amazing game and as far as i know...there is no level cap.
its been making me want to revisit the previous games. (thats how i ended up here)
i hope this helps.
"I hate new vegas, you have to level up twice to get a perk WTF?" -Me about 3 hours playing the game. (years ago) That being said, i couldn't have been more wrong. "I LOVE NEW VEGAS!" -me (present day) fallout:new vegas was something that i had to force myself playing (at first) before it truely grabed me. with all the dlc and the level cap raise to 50 it made it more enjoyable for me. still havent beaten "dead money" dlc (only started it) but the dlc old world blues is my all time fave dlc, and that's coming from a guy who loved mothership zeta and the pit.
I think new vegas is so good because it was made by the fans of fallout. Bethesda knows their stuff, but like anything you see, inspiration makes the idea bigger and grander. ergo Star Wars.
(forewarning....or after..warning...little buzzed from z beers.)
New Vegas was also made by some of the original developers of Fallout 1, 2 and the unfinished Fallout 3.
