Parc fermé
How can you even win when you have qualifiying on a rain day and the race on a sunny day ?!

The car is setup to drive on rain and because of pac fermé you can't change that in the race !

And when I use the agressive fuel mode in qualifying during the race it is back on normal !

That's a challenge real F1 teams have to face - do they compromise qually performance and go for a dry setup in the hopes of gaining positions in the race, or do they go wet setup and get a good grid slot but be outpaced come race day. It's a strategy call that every team has to make, and the game mirrors it reallistically.

The only issue is that the AI have unrealistic speed and tire life in wet conditions, making the scales unbalanced. If the AI wet performance could be fixed so it's a totally level playing field then it would be a great element to play with.

The Parc Ferme rule is taken from real life F1 and is designed to make the race more strategic and difficult for the teams. The way you win on days like that is by choosing the right strategy for the conditions and outsmarting/outdriving everyone else.

Well weater is a almost unpredictable factor but hey if it is like that in real F1 than by all means. Do you know why my fuel usage get's changed ? I mean all other settings stay but the fuel usage changes ? Strange parc fermé if you ask me.

Do you mean fuel mode in the car, or fuel strategy which you set in the pit before the race? I assume you mean the former because you referred to qualifying, and you can't set fuel strategy before qualifying.

The fuel mode dictates how quickly the engine burns fuel, and therefore how much power the car produces. Higher mix means more fuel burned and more power, but the tradeoff is longevity - more fuel used means you have less to complete the race with. And if you use too much, it's entirely possible you will run out before the end and have to retire. In fact, because fuel load weighs so much F1 teams deliberately underfuel thei cars by a few laps so the car will weigh less and go faster, but this of course means they are forced to run at a lower mix for some of the race to conserve fuel and make it to the end.

So fuel mix defaults to standard because that's a good balance between longevity and power. Real F1 drivers change their fuel mix many times during a race (perhaps even many times a lap) depending on the situation they are in at the time. But for every moment they spend on mix 2 or every half a moment they spend on mix 3, they will have to pay it back sometime during the race by dropping to mix 1 and saving fuel, otherwise they would have to retire.

Hello, yes I meant the fuel mode. If I set it on agressive during the qualify why does it change to normal at the start of the race (still in the pit) and is it greyed out so no changes can be made ? The fuel amount was also not adjustable, I contacted codemasters and they said that it shouldn't be like that because that does not concer parc fermé. That was during the 2nd qualify and race. I will see if I have the same issue in the third one and than complain with codemasters if is still is.

Hmm, via the engine menu you can't change it but in the tyre menu that option is adjustable. I must have overlooked that. Do you know why in Qualifying parc fermé is avtivated ? I was trying out settings but parc fermé got activated during the qualification.

once u drive out of ur garage on q1 then parcfern kicks in thats so u cannot adjust any thing threw quali but in quali 1 u can adjust the set up but as soon as u drive out u cannot exept the front wing

Oh now I'm getting a better picture of the whole thing. This is the first F1 game I bought and there is almost nothing in the manual. I have a lot of Gran Turismo and NFS experience but F1 is just something else. So during practise you can do what you like with the settings than you go the qualify and can only change them before driving and than it's parc fermé till the end exept for tires and fuel.

Well you should have seen the last race of this year...

Practice and all quali was wet.. Q3 was so bad they had a delay....

Race was dry, but they still managed to race i guess.

Theres a "Parc Ferme" Options in the Options menu i think you could turn that off if you needed.
