Yeah, but that pretty much is NASCAR in a nutshell.
So yes google iRacing.
Flying start in 4th gear, accelarating to 5th gear, turn left, go straight, turn left, go straight, turn left, go straight, turn left, go straight, turn left, go straight, ....and always the foot on the pedal.
Sooooo intense!!!!!!!
So yeah, big fan of NASCAR now...
It more about the drama and spectical and whatnot.
yeah when you remove the car variences, and the skill required to tackel a complicated track, like in F1 racing, some say its then all about the pure driver competition.
And i think thats the draw. Its about the drivers vs drivers with not much else as a factor. And yeah there the whole drama spectical thing related to it ect...like wrestling...and i wouldnt be surprised if it was all sort of fake, with scriped drama, and the suits deciding the more profitable race stars to have at the top.
Anyway, its easy to not respect stuff you dont understant...and well i sure as hell dont understand NASCAR's appeal or draw, but it does quite well for what it is...so ill repect that.
As far as i can understand though, the whole point of NASCAR at its roots is to really remove anything that would complicate the act of drivers dueling drivers or whatever the hell you call it. Its just you the car and other drivers, all in the same car with no real advantage over the other and a predictible course, so perhaps that brings out a kind of competition many like.
Who knows....but yeah a simple person will mock stuff they dont understand, especially when its related to a crowd of people they are already prejudice to dislike.
I dont get its allure, but i repect that it does draw surprising crowds and a devoted fan base...like wrestling does.
(Hate is a strong word, just not a fan of :D )
Nascar races are boring if you consider them just left turns as i did. But my uncles got me to go to a race with them and i saw it a different way. They were explaining to me all the people around, the radios and the communications for just one car and one team. They had spotters, mechanics and everything else working together. They explained it to me that watching Nascar is like watching 32 football teams play against each other at the same time.
They also told me as to not think of it as left turns, but as a strait track. You are working your way through them, trying to catch mistakes or shortcomings testing endurance and consistency.
So i respect Nascar in that regard...still boring, never went to another race nor watched any.
F1...I know ♥♥♥♥ about F1. Which is good. Knowing nothing of Nascar makes you biased and i'm sure knowing everything about F1 makes you biased. It does look way in depth. The wheels have all those buttons and ♥♥♥♥ on them..it's crazy! If i ever watch racing highlights i do check out F1 and all that because the turns and stuff do make it exciting to watch without hvaing to know anything about it. One thing i always thought was if the drivers ever get motion sick. When i accelerate and stop at too many stop signs i get sick. Pulling all that force and slowing down constantly and turning...man it puts a strain on their bodies internaly. And that's cool.
Overall...they are all cars on a track, just played differently, and that's okay. It's like American Football, Soccer and Rugby. They are esentially getting the ball to the other end, but they have different ways of doing it. Nascar to me would be football, and Rugby and Soccer would be F1. You have to know something about Football to give a ♥♥♥♥ about it, but the other games are constantly moving so i can enjoy it without knowing anythign about it and how in depth it goes.
TL:DR
Go back and read it anyway, i'm making points here.
screw you danika patrick, i bet i can turn left better than you (cartman)

Most of the people I ask that "hate" NASCAR haven't even seen a full race or made an attempt to understand it deeper. I'm not into it, but I respect the hell out of it. None of these sports are easy, no matter how it looks as a spectator.
