using asset is OK as long as you use them properly i often use assets for private project even AAA use assets. However if you use only assets and nothing in between you get asset flip which are basically games or projects that rely heavily on pre-made assets without significant original content or effort put into them. This can result in a lack of originality, quality, or coherence in the final product, diminishing the overall experience.
I feel like unreal engine is going to become associated with these shallow games with good graphics like how unity became associated with poorly made games XD.
hmm my point isn't that there no effort at all, assets are used through out the industry, Rust is one i can think of top of my head used lots of different assets for vegetation and objects around the map. I personally use lot of particle assets, the key is to have the asset be a filler. when you abuse assets you start running into problems like no consistency in ascetics or quality , and limit your creativity. have the asset help your game not lead it if you get me
when it comes to this game i cant really comment much personally I wont be trying the game out as it looks to be asset flip/cash grab looking at the developer history realising and abandoning, the game are also not cheap
Specs:
Ryzen 9
32gb ram
3060ti
ssd
Pico4, Virtual Desktop, UEVR
But again, Tbjbu2 cannot justify making a sequel when this one lets you craft a gun with no ammo and no way to craft ammo.
Also assets don't make a game.
If the game is good then I have 0 issues with store assets getting used even more so if it's small a small company or single dev.
Not picked this up yet but it's cheap enough to take a risk.
That is not a complaint to me.
Hey I just wanted to thank you for being here! It's so refreshing having an expert around who can tell everyone else when it's okay to use assets, and when it's not okay. Thanks so much!
