It's so difficult to get 4:1 odds or more, and even at 4:1 there's 50% chance for defender retreat. It's quite likely, that on turn 1 german player won't destroy even a single soviet unit whose strength is 5 or more, given that a lot of those units are behind rivers or in forests. A lot of those strong soviet units will survive and evacuate to a hexes behind rivers. And on turn 2 soviets will get a ton of strength 4 armies to further supply their defences. Saw it, saw it was cheap, thought why not. What a dog to get the hang of :) But it is what it is, and I've at least started to get a handle on the inteface. Hope the dev adds some polish.

I really liked this game when it first came out some decades ago. I find it difficult to work through the options for following up enemies destroyed or who have retreated, and I find the lack of unit identification of the units annoying. When I play the old game, having the full details of the units was part of the fun, and it could easily be added to flash up the designation from the game when selected. I would like to see a lot more of these old games on Steam but I think the coding and ease of use needs...

Does the game take care of the combat resolution (calculations, etc) and rules enforcement?
