shooting causes game shuttering/lag

Do not reply by telling me to use tripple buffering or reduced mouse lag or by asking me what my pc specs are, my pc specs are good enough to run a hundred flipen postal 2 games if i wanted to.

When i first played postal 2 it was years ago and i had a toaster of a machine and it ran smooth as butter. Not so long ago i decided to buy this "new version" on steam.

Now my problem is this, any time a weapon is fired, wether its me or an npc, the whole game shutters, when i say shutter i mean the screen pauses for a second. With pistols its hardly noticable until you fire continuously with rifles its so bad the whole game stops moving and you've got no idea where to aim or what to do.

Since destruction and mayhem are what makes postal 2 postal 2 i really feel like im missing out on half the game by not being able to use any firearms

I know im not the only one with this proplem, please help :(

Try running an older version of Postal 2, here's how to do it:

1. Uninstall Postal 2
2. Right click on Postal 2 in your Steam Library, click on Properties -> Betas and select the '1409 - 1409 (Cannot play Paradise Lost)' beta
3. Now Postal 2 1409 should start downloading. Once it's done, try launching it and let me know how it goes.

If the stuttering persists, open Postal2.ini and look for this line:

ForceOneCore=False

change it to

ForceOneCore=True

Beta version works just fine, exactly how i remembered it :)

this might be unrelated but how come the newer version of postal 2 is smaller then the older version? The newer updated version is 1.9 GB but the beta was around 2.7 GB. Oh wells :)

Evidently, your PC specs suck. My advice: try setting Anistrophic Filtering to 1.

Responding to the dev here :)

The original Postal 2 works peferctly for me, I also tried the newer one with the changes to the .ini file as advised it does run somewhat smoother but the problem still persists.

How ever it only happens in very specific locations, so far at the bank and the little hidden trainyard outside paradise mall, everywhere else it works just fine :) and I've been very happy playing it.

To be honest I think its probably a windows 10 problem, I've spoken to people using older versions of windows and their game works just fine.

I'm seriously considering downgrading from windows 10 or should I say, upgrading...
