I can't move

Hello guys, i just bought portal 2, it was my childhood's game. When i saw postal 2 on steam i bought it. but there is a problem about moving. Actually everything, i can't move, i can't look around. But when i press "esc" menu becames clickable, in control setting things are changeable, i tried to make them "restore defaults" still not working. When i open console -"-
buttons works, in game they just don't
Do you have any idea why it happens ?
By the way, my operating system is linux. Ubuntu 13.04
I know it will work without problem on my monster pc, but i want to play it on this poor notebook too.
Please help me.

its cause of the brand new update but u must have downloaded the update WITH the game so idk how to fix that the only way to do that 4 anyone else is to make a new game but since u never had 1 u will just have to wait....

If you're on Windows and are using an old save from pre-1417 you're going to have to start a new game. The DLC/Update isn't out on Mac/Linux yet.

i fixed the problem in an odd way, all i did was download paradise lost and the bug was fixed and i can freely move again

Although its tedious I fixed the problem by jumping to a new location. I could move after I finished loading

How did you jump to a new location? I'm standing infront of my trailer and can't move. It's an old save. I just tried it and can confirm that with a new game everything is fine. But I don't want to start over :(

I'm stuck too, at start of day two. If I restart it's all fine, but I don't want to go through all that again.

That's horrible, I really hope it's just a bug and gets fixed soon!
