The game does not start
A year or more ago I bought the game and it worked perfectly, but I uninstalled it and now that I install it again the game does not start. the last thing I see is 'synchronizing' and it's all (the same thing also happens with the DLC).

unfortunately this is not the solution to my problem, still unable to run the game, but thanks for your response. good day

Are you receiving any error messages or something else besides that "synchronizing"-thingy?

By the way what are your specs? Maybe it's something with your DirectX messing the whole thing up.. it is well know that this game is more or less alergic to DirectX-renderers

And have you tried running that game in compatibility mode? Because especially on older games Windows tends to f*ck things up... If the compatibility mode helps you out I would bet I had a long-term solution for you :D Besides keeping that mode of course

1- no error message
2- Could you tell me, please, where can I see my specifications and how to run it in compatibility mode?

Lets focus on that compatibility part first..

At the same window where you could find "Verify integrity of game files..." you should see a button saying "Browse local files...". That button should bring up your install folder of Postal 2.
In there you can find the Postal2.exe. Right-click it and click on "Properties". In the window that should pop-up then you can follow these steps: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001894.htm
The example says Google Chrome but it can be used for any .exe file just the same way

Try something older than Windows 8. You can also check the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox just to make sure nothing is blocking off your application

It seems like gameux.dll is what causing this issue, at least I had this problem. So, now for some reason when you launch the game rundll32.exe is trying to launch gameux.dll too and it does nothing but uses 100% of CPU. Not sure if Steam or the game itself is the reason for it, because there seems to be other games on Steam that cause this issue.

Anyway, the solution is to get rid of gameux.dll (or you can rename the file extension). Here is a guide: https://miasma.org/index.php?topic=1032.0

Hey, let me know if you are still having this issue!

First of all, I'm sorry for the delay.
try to fix the problem for compatibility [Windows XP (service pack 3) to be precise] and now when I want to run the game appears this message suggesting reinstall the program, what do you think guys? but only with the base game, the DLC is still as in the beginning (without being able to execute it)

'The code execution can not continue because MSVCR120.dll was not found. This problem can be solved by reinstalling the program'

and about the gameux.dll. As my knowledge is null, I decided to look for it in the files and I do not know what it is, since it appears 5 results (four with the same name and the fifth is called GameuxInstallHelper.dll

Run the game normally and launch task manager, then look for rundll32.exe process and see how much CPU resources it's using (click the second tab called "Processes", then in this tab click CPU). If there is such process and it has high CPU usage, simply follow the link in my post, it has everything you really need: the location of the gameux.dll file (this is the exact name of it) and how to delete/change it.

Someone had a similar issue a few years back, and reinstalling the redistributable packages fixed it for him so you might want to try that: https://steamcommunity.com/app/223470/discussions/1/350543841943866154/

Reinstall the whole .NET framework: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30653 (Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions)

Reinstall all DirectX Packages: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Reinstall all C++ Packages, download them from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003 (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013)

Check if you have all of the latest Windows updates installed.

Check the system files for any errors: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Restart your PC after you go through all of these steps.
For Windows Vista/7 only:

Open regedit and go to

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\GameUX\ServiceLocation

change "Games"="h t t p s : / / games.metaservices.microsoft.com/games/SGamesWebService.asmx"

with

"Games"="127.0.0.1"

Im long time done with this game anyway...

The solution @Comanchero posted actually fixed this problem for another person so you might want to try that!

Huh, so even the solution I posted on the first page didn't work for you? Not sure if you had a chance to try it (Even if you already had the redist installed)

Alright so, you need to make sure your copy of Win10 is fully updated, next you should install the Media Feature pack: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209072469-Live-does-not-launch-because-of-a-missing-dll

Then download this redist again: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 (x32/x64)

Once you've done all of that, restart your PC and launch P2
