You need to run PL from your Steam Library.
When starting Paradise Lost from Postal 2 menu or desktop shortcut, the game will start without Steam overlay. This will disable Steam screenshots and tracking of Steam achievements.
Shortcut for Paradise Lost created through Postal 2 menu item has direct path to exe, whereas Postal 2 shortcut created through Steam points to game ID with "steam-protocol" (steam://).
It is possible to play Paradise Lost without Steam.
Do you know how Steam starts Paradise Lost? Just trying to figure out if it would be possible to manually create Steam-friendly shortcut for Paradise Lost.
All I can say about this is that making a Steam shortcut for something else, then modifying that shortcut's URL to the ID for Paradise Lost doesn't work, as far as I've tried (I'm of course assuming I actually pointed it to the right ID, and that Google results weren't lying to me again).
Because P2 and PL have same ID, regarding steam_appid.txt file.
