Why does the pirated version work 10 times better than the Steam version?

I downloaded the pirated version because I really want to play this game, I also bought it 2 days ago along with the new DLC thingy, but it is literally, the most buggiest game I have ever played, it lags extremely on the Steam version, runs fine on the pirated. Why ?

The current version of POSTAL 2 has higher system requirements than the original release as it contains a vast amount of more content and features including limb dismemberment, NPC accessories such as hats/glasses/bags, four times the bystander vocal variety (8+ NPC dialog classes vs. the original 2), over twelve new weapons, and much, much more. The current version of the engine is also the most stable as numerous age old crashes have been fixed.

If you are having performance issues, you can disable options such as limb dismemberment and NPC accessories in the Performance menu.

Like Revenant said, the pirated version is probably pretty outdated. But if you would like to play the older version without the updates, you can go to the betas tab on steam and revert it to 1409.

I have everything turned off and it still lags like hell, half of the map isn't loading and I cant launch it because it says " Installing Redist something " every time and surely 12 new weapons wont make me lag so badly.

my P2 lags a lot too and i overshoot the requirements
its this garbage years old engine that is now overbloated with new content .. nothing you can do about it

There is: get a good enough computer. I'm using a 6 year old rig with an i3 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a (newer) Radeon HD 7770 and the game runs fine. It stutters on occasion (mostly in the bad weather zones), but otherwise it runs smoothly.

what part of "i overshoot the requirements" you didnt understand?
i can run Far Cry 4 on medium-high adjusted with steady 60 fps
GTA 5 on 40-60

P2 has random and severe fps drops regardless of PC

you are either obviously lying or you never actualy did any heavy ramapges in postal 2 or you play like a pacifist.

no one has constant 60 fps in Postal 2 it will always drop fps or start stuttering at some point of the "story"or at some areas

this game's engine can only take so much strain
your hardware dosent matter

My performance goes south when it starts raining cats, that was with everything on full. Not sure what it's like now i've reduced a few of the settings. I have i5 2500k, 8GB RAM & GTX970, so yeah noone can get constant 60fps.
