Open secret passage during bank robbery?

How do you open the secret door by the bank vault. The video's on youtube show its the bookshelf on the right of the vault and you just kick it and it opens. Tried kicking and other stuff but it doens't work.

It's a bit tricky to open, but I found using the sledgehammer works the best. Even then, it usually takes a few tries before it'll open. I think it's part of an update, because I remember the secret door used to open with a single kick.

Yeah that works. Although on some days door is closed

The bookcase only opens up on Monday, and ONLY Monday. Why? Because [bleep] you, that's why!

Have to try it on monday then. Does it open in paradise lost too? Tried it on paradise lost when you have to mess up the guys computers and stuff, obviously not a bank anymore lol, but wasn't sure if it still opened or not. The vent passage way doesn't seem to open so im guessing probably not. But it did say something like "ohh pull the book and the bookshelf doesnt open" when I tried to open the bookshelf.

Nope, doesn't open in Paradise Lost.

There is a way to open it in Paradise Lost

Walk up to the bookcase to get the message, then get back to the vault, a hidden switch is now visible

It's in Paradise Lost, so it only works on Tuesday during the "Wreck the competition" errand.

Does anyone know if it is possible to enter the bank through the hidden passage? Or is it only possible to escape the bank by using the bookcase entrance?

They've changed a lot over the years but here's a few things i've picked up from before the steam version existed till now:

The bookshelf must have been open atleast once on Monday. Otherwise it might not open at all the other days.

It's harder to open from the sewers than from the office, but from the office you can just walk into it.

From the sewer, you simply needed to kick it to open it, if that didn't work, pissing or using gassoline and lighting that would do the trick. Now i tried to throw a sledgehammer at it, and then it worked.

It's tricky to get open, but experiment with a few things in your arsenal and it will usually pop open.
