POSTAL 2
In which countries is Postal 2 banned?
Recently I've seen that Postal 2 is banned in some countries as Australia and New Zealand. I wonder if the game is banned in Austria or any other countries?

I can understand why anyone would choose to ban Postal games. Just because you and I see them as extremely morbid 3 stooges satirical loony tunes nonsense doesn't mean some idiot wouldn't believe it's a shining example to live by and something to emulate.

The people that ban things do so because they're liable and just evading responsibility. There's ways around it, as long as they can look the other way and deny noticing or knowing then it can slide by if kept out of sight.

I'm in Australia. This place has already returned to being a prison colony right now. Jail is not much of a threat anymore. Most people would be happy to go there if it gets them out of paying rent - given these lockdowns mean that people can't make an honest buck anyway.

Japan allowed the game but it has to be distributed as a porn game in Japan due to the excessive violence and gore.
Yes, in Japan, Postal is considered a hentai eroge in Japan due to its violence.

While console games have ratings in Japan, there are only two ratings for PC games: G and X. Anything that isn't pornographic or violent enough to be considered porn is considered appropriate for all ages, even if it's something like the old Resident Evil games, which still got C (15+) and D (17+) ratings in Japan.

what happens if someone plays a game that is banned in there country? do they go to jail ?
I saw The Last Temptation of Christ as a kid even if it is banned here in the Philippines and in the Philippines, a banned film just means it cannot be shown publicly. Same goes for games.
Ordering copies from another country or pirating it is okay (since everyone and their mother does piracy here even if it is technically illegal, even the largest media companies in the Philippines openly and proudly pirate everything).

Ironically enough, The Passion of the Christ which is even more gruesome than The Last Temptation of Christ, is not only allowed to be shown here, but is given a mere PG rating instead of an R-18 rating despite all of the gore remaining uncut and intact.
Postal 1, and 2 weren't banned in Ireland as far as know

Then why can I still purchase it in Malaysia? It even shows the price in my currency.

People who actually try to reinact things they see in games like this obviously have serious mental problems so i don't think banning a game will stop their plans.

Didn't Saudi Arabia ban it?

I LITERALLY bought this game via steam in Riyadh (capital of Saudi Arabia). Im pretty sure "banning" it is making it not available retail in stores. I could be wrong because nowadays stores dont sell games older than a decade anymore.
