The sawed off was added post release it wasn't in the vanilla game, the vanilla game just had the regular shotgun

Sawn-off works here just like in ED - blowing eveyone into the pieces from normal distance, which makes this weapon is so overpowered.

I remember that in old AWP mod the sawn off could have max 60 ammo and was harder to find ammo for it, and that was balanced ;) In current P2 sawn off uses same ammo as regular shotgun and that makes this weapon too usefull and pretty much breaks the difficulty level IMO.
