Postal 2 Paradise Lost achievements not working

Hey, I recently bought the Postal 2 DLC and its great but the achievements dont unlock, Im playing it off the desktop shortcut you get when you launch it in-game from Postal 2 on Steam.
They appear on the achievements list in the game but don't unlock on Steam itself.

thats a known problem and the same happened to me
for achievos to unlock you have to launch through steam...NOT desktop

I launch it through Steam and I can't unlock achievements. I don't know what to do. I start the game fro Steam and click on Paradise Lost.

When you play Paradise Lost, can you access the Steam Overlay?

I think I misunderstood everything. When I launch Postal 2, I have 3 options. The base game, multiplayer and Paradise Lost. I never bothered with the other two options, because when I finished AWP I immideatly started PL from the main menu. At first I thought launching the base game and then start Paradise Lost from the base game's main menu is the same as launching the game choosing the third option. Then I saw that the Steam does not show anything when I'm playing Paradise Lost and also the game does not give any achievements. At least I was only on Monday, so no harm done.

SOLUTION: When you start the game from the base game's main menu, the game lauches Paradise Lost as if you launch any non Steam game so to speak, when you click on an exe file.
So I chose the third option and Paradise Lost started with Steam... Everything works fine.
The solution was so easy I actually feel dumb not to figure it out sooner. I thought that's what the guy above me meant to say. I mean I started the game with Steam after all. I guess I way really tired. Still weird that the base game launches Paradise Lost without Steam if you start it from the main menu.
