Sea Dogs: To Each His Own

if you're only going to play one Sea Dogs game which one should it be?
I want to play a pirate game and there are a dearth of options. So I'm going with games that are possibly 20 years old but outdated games don't really bother me

I saw this game had the most reviews though most of them have Mostly Positive scores on steam so I figured this forum would be the most active. Can anyone give advice on which Sea Dogs game I should play and why it is better than the others?

Thank you

The question really just comes down to City of Abandoned Ships or To Each His Own. COAS is more geared towards sandbox and TEHO is more geared towards story. Personally I feel TEHO has more content overall, but if you're willing to go outside of steam, you can find Gentlemen of Fortune Maelstrom on itchio, which is essentially a large scale mod of COAS on an improved engine, costs about 10 bucks or so.

However, you should also consider Caribbean Legend, the upcoming remake of TEHO. It launches in a few days, and if I'm not mistaken they released the free sandbox version of it already. It doesn't have the story content of the full game, but its effectively an unlimited demo of the game.
i miss cutthroats terror on the high seas, never got to finish the story line cuz bethesda had a broken part in it that they never patched and u werent able to continue.

Sounds like TEHO is what I would prefer

Thank you
Beyond New Horizons is free and still being updated has quite a few storylines in it as for a paid game Caribbean Legend (Remake of TEHO) since it has the best story and quests in the series at least in my opinion.

In that case I recommend grabbing Caribbean Legend. It's the complete TEHO experience with more content and it looks nicer too.
