The Dutch Gambit: Rewards (spoilers)

I have finished the Dutch Gambit as the Secret Organisation and as the Dutch Agent and I have also played a bit into the English Privateer. Here are the rewards you get from it:

Secret Organisation:

Hercule Tonzag - a Boarder and Boatswain (please note he is leveled, starts lvl 30)

You also get The Valkyr patrol Brigantine which seems to be the mid reward ship compared to the Meifeng and Black Ship (20x20 cannons)

Longway - the chinese Captain a Navigator (you wont really need him as a Doctor after you finish Pirate Saga where you get a better one)

Please note there is a dialogue with Longway when you first get the Meifeng ship and it is possible that based on your answer Longway might or might not join you in the very end!

I was nice to him and he chose my side but there is also a very mean answer - I dont know if you get other companion (Hercule) or whether you still get Longway or nobody in which case you would fight a very hard fight :)

You will also get The "Meifeng" light Xebec ship which has speed 17 and 65 Maneuvrability - highest numbers I have seen so far - but only 137 max crew (20x20 cannons)

Charlie Knippel - a Proffesional Cannoneer from the start - doesnt seem like much more

You will probably get the Black Ship (privateer Kette?) which has the most crew space and stronger cannons of the three - but I did not play this far - seems only logical though.


Both Dutch Agent and Secret Org. award you with the House-Drugstore and you will also get a musket either as a reward or as loot from the enemy ship cabin. (This musket can be used for Celeucha quest which follows in 6 months) English gives a musket/shotgun and surely the house too.


You will also get the follow up to find the Jade Skull and treasure on the secret Island no matter which side you chose. Only the story is different and I have to say it is interesting to see it from all sides!

Seems to me Hercule is the best companion choice and Meifeng is the best ship reward but thats probably up to prefference. All are good!
Celeucha spoiler: Just when you do Celeucha do not captain your precious ship after visiting the Shaman on Dominica !

I finished Dutch Gambit siding with the Dutch Trading Company, but Longway didnt show himself again after the battle at Dominica (he didnt participate in the battle).
I was very nice to him the first time i met him, with the last dialog option that show respect to him as a fellow captain, and that he was the true captainof Meifeng.
The quest is now complete, vice-director going back to Europe, but Longway is nowhere to be seen.

I thought he would join me being respectfull with him, did i miss something? I dont have any save prior to meeting him, so it is just out of curiosity that i'm asking this.

Are you sure he was not there while fighting in the basement of the drugstore? If you can try to reload it there. If you dont pay attention Hercule kills him there!

When you enter the basement and meet the first enemy he yells Hercule Longway something and Longway enters from where you entered

Ah i noticed some dead bodies i didnt kill myself in the dungeon basement, dont remember if it was Longway. Hopefully i have a save around that moment i will check again. Thanks for the tip

Just realoaded a save from that moment, you are right, he got killed without me noticing the first time. well just 9 months to replay, but its worth a loyal officer i guess :)

Im replaying three years cause I missed Mary and didnt take Rising Energy perk :)))

Why is it important?

On another note, I didn't get the achievement for doing it as a Dutch agent. Any solution?

Because mary is a sith lord, but devoted to you, which is nice.

There are two personal perks you want to rush : the one who gives one point of life for each new level, and the one who gives you one point of energy for each new level.
They make the game easier at high level.

I think the achievement system is buggy, you should not care about it.

I think someone else has already post it about it.
However, if you have a save just before, you could share it to the dev, so they can check where and why the achievement system doesn't work.

I know that it doesn't work at all when you are playing offline, but maybe there is other reasons ?

I just finished Justice Town in the "Mary" way and there are also very valuable talismans to be had.

Thor talisman which prevents cannons to detonate will be great along with Caleucha which has 36 pound cannons which cannot be bought anywhere - I do not remember getting Thor Talisman doing it the neutral way. (No Mary and no Sorcerer)

I have also reported several nonworking achievements Dutch Gambit as Dutch, Jedi, Low Health... some other work some dont.

Yes, the achievement are buggy.
I got the Jedi achievement but not the money lender one : sometimes it works, sometimes not.

east indian ship compare to 3 ship above , which one is better ? and no weapon ? i thought you will have some fadey's collection sword at the end of pirate saga or dutch gambit ( or maybe loot ? )

Fadey collection swords are awarded later than dutch gambit. One random from vendors - loot. One is from Pirate Saga when you beat english frigate captain and the last is from Levasseur governor of tortuga - Governor mansion chest

i cheat money and have skip to the phase where i need to chose 3 side , but i already have scimitar from street shop , how can i collect the rest ? and how to find instrument ?
