So this is actually the fifth sea dogs I think. The series has been under a few different names, like Corsairs, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Age of Pirates. I'm pretty sure you can find them on Steam or GOG. Unfortunately the future of this game is in jeopardy due to Akella going bankrupt.
However, there's also Gentlemen of Fortune, which is basically a fan-made recreation of the game on a different engine: https://chezjfrey.itch.io/gentlemen-of-fortune-maelstrom-engine

If you're talking about the trailer that was put out for a sea dogs game on UE4 like a year back, I'm pretty sure that isn't actually happening.

No pirates of the Caribbean (Sea dog 2). I'd like to play that.

I do hope that we see more of these games. Personally I would like to see POTC (sea dogs 2) but more of it. I understand that this is the same game, but what I truly is mean POTC but more. The UI is way better IMO, the game runs so smoother on the same PC, it has this good old levelling system where you can level up a skill without ever using it, ship combat was meaty, graphics are gorgeous. I also understand that this is not happening because of budget, most likely. It was such a straightforward game with enough of challenge material to keep you on your toes. Hardly finished though.
