You can repair your ship at sea, if you or your joiner have a perk for it. You don't need to speak to him, if he has the perk, a portion of HP will be restored automatically at the end of the day. On lower difficulties, there is a perk for instant repair as well.
Repair skill (your or your joiner's) determines how fast the repairs will be done (both at sea and in the shipyard) and how much materials will be needed (if you're doing it at sea)
1.have resources wood and sailthcloth
2.Crew for repairs
3. on ship abilities there 3 designed to active the self-repair if you dont at least 1 your ship on self-repair
4.he works on ships defences last time i remenbered
will repair their ships if they have materials necessary in hold.
Bigger ships require more materials for repairs.
I can repair my ships even in towns with full repair perc.
