Can anyone help with Amber rush mission (flying the jolly roger)

I do not understand what I am supposed to do after I track down the Cantavro. I boarded and captured it, killing the captain. Afterwards all these long boats are aggressive. I cannot board any of them, and sinking them yields no blue amber. After killing them all I just leave and it says I failed to plunder any amber.

I tried going under a dutch flag but they are still always aggressive no matter how many times I try to savescum, and I don't get any messages about failing a stealth check. What am I missing?

From first seeing them you just sail beside them without hitting them. They surrender thier loot to you.

They will scatter and make it hard to get beside them. Watch for other ships, I think they are english so fly the french flag.

well freaking a. Thank you very much. I am in a heavy galleon so it was tough getting close enough. In fact I ended up sinking 2 of them just by running them over.... (thankfully they gave up their amber first =P)
