Ghost ship (Caleuche)
I just started the Caleuche. I went to Dominica and talked to the Chief. My log book says I should go back and talk to the one who told me about the Chief (my case it's Guadaloupe lighthouse worker).
But as soon as I step on the ship the storm starts and the Ghost ship appears.

I have Meifang Xebec and cannot beat it.
I can outrun it. Not only on the map, but even in the "sail to" mode. But I can't go to the World map or "sail to" anywhere else (even before the battle starts). And while sailing during the storm eventually the thunders destroy my ship so that's not the solution as well.
I thought maybe it's like a vampire ghosts and they will disappear during the day. But they didn't disappear until 10:00 o'clock when the thunder killed me.

Please help, what do I do?

I see that there is almost no information for the Calueche. It looks like an easy quest for everyone.

Its a scripted fight you cannot win.
Calueuche will board you, its captain will stabbity stab you, you`ll lose consciousness and will come to on the beach of Dominica, with your ship sunk.

So better replay that last part of dash to Dominic with something disposable. But better if with sizeable crew - else you will be overwhelmed in boarding action and die, never gotten to captain.

Unfortunately, during the first encounter with the Calueche you are meant to sink and lose your ship. I would recommend loading and buying a disposable ship just for this part. If I recall this is the only place in the game where you are suppose to lose a ship.

Thank you guys.

But I die. The game sends me to the main menu and I have to start all over.

You have to stay afloat until it boards you, and then cut your way for the Caleuche captian.
If you get sunk or get killed by the nameless rabble in the deck fight - you die for good.

TL;DR: Git gud!

Thanks.

So if I understood you correctly I have to die by the hands of the captain?

What about my money, chest and officers? Do I lose them all?

Fall in battle! `cause casuistics. You dont die, you dont even have health go down a level.
You dont lose none of the mentioned. Just ship and the crew.

This whole plot situation is a nod to original PotC, really. There you lost your ship and got stranded on the beach too, when first meeting the Pearl.

Your money, chest, officers are all fine. You will have a low health stat following the fight.

Thanks guys.

I have another question. At what level did you guys take this quest?

I am currently on level 19. And this is impossible. All the evil spirits have 230+ health. They also have guns and health potions. I go for the door. But there are too many of them. In the end they get in.
I mean I am not getting even close to killing them all and going for 1 on 1 with Captain.

P. S: For any new guys reading this. Don't waste your time with Fadey's dagger. It will hurt them for 2-3 health.

The only thing left that comes to my mind is go do some more pirating. Until I can use the Naval Carbine. That looks like my only chance at the moment.

And maybe I try that Squall manga rosa potion.

I waited until after completing the main story line for the game. I didn't have much difficulty at this point because I was like lvl 30+

This scene scripted in such a way, that number of actors on both sides is fixed - both cursed, and your sailors. Level of enemies depends on difficulty, plus level scaling. Your guys level calculated pretty much using the usual boarding rules, relating to crew number at the moment of boarding.
So having a sizeable ship helps to even the odds.

Usual stuff, like having proper skillset for personal combat applies too.
I always set a goal of getting Proffessional Fencer ASAP. By that point you have well-leveled weapon skills, gear and this combat system reflexes burned into your brain...

Also, it makes certain level of sense to at least finish this quest after returning from Island of Lost Ships. Here is a cornerstone for you, I guess.

Thank you guys a lot. I really appreciate it. I mean, level 30+ and level 19 are uncomperable.

I will wait with this quest for now.

I owe you all drink in the tavern and 200 gold doublons! :)
