The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Am I asking for to much to want full controller support for Oblivion Remastered?
Years of PC gaming has turned my wrist and shoulder into dust. I need controller support on most games now

Remaster will of course have full controller support.
I honestly see no reason why there wouldn't be. As in I don't see it being possible to not have controller support.
God I hope so. I played it on 360/PS3 years ago and when I got it on PC trying to get a controller working is a nightmare. Why it didn't work out of the box since it was on console too is beyond me. Small indie company I guess. I won't even get it if it doesn't have controller support literally the main reason I want the game.
It seems almost inconceivable for it to not to, I would be shocked if the remaster lacked controller support.
why wouldn't it have controller support?

I hope so it will make it easier playing it on a handheld like Steam Deck or Rog Ally etc.

Because this version doesn't have full controller support.
This version is 19 years old...
I'm wondering if PS5 and Switch controllers will also be supported.

And it's a remaster, not a remake, who is to say they actually made any changes on the technical level? It could be the exact same game with a fresh coat of paint. Now as I said I would be shocked if it didn't, but it's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

Lol zero chance they at least ported some of the game over to using Unreal Engine 5 and didn't modernize it to at least have native controller support...

This isn't just a case of them making some higher resolution textures and new models. They're porting the entire rendering system over to Unreal and likely a lot of the other base gameplay systems as well, like input.

Have you ever tried using the steam community controller profiles? I use one and it works really well.

That's what you assume, but I have some lazy ports before, we won't know the exact quality until it's released.

Never heard of that, but there are ways to play with a controller, what we are talking about it native support.

Anyone else having issues with the xinput controllers not working in it?

Are you try to use the in-game controller support? Because it doesn't work.

The best option for controller users is Nothern UI:

If you don't want the UI changes and just controller support, you need Northern UI Away. It's an alternate download on the same files page.
You are the second person to mention that Terran Ghost, I know someone else was trying to get Nothern (or is it Northern?) UI to work:

Seems like it is NORTHERN UI and the link is as suggested:

If the link is flagged by Steam you have to consider that Nexusmods is not normally considered dangerous, that's weird, but probably modding sites are not normally liked by Steam, dunno. I'll add Terran Ghost's suggestion to another thread.
