The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

What do you think happens after we die, if anything?

On what meaning you put in this question. What does happen with the body, or with environment? Or with something else? Because too many things happen

Like all my victims you'll become a feast for the ravens and maggots, unless someone quickly cremates you on those tiresome boat pyres.

Either way I, but not you, will drink and feast for ever in the Halls of Sovngarde...

Dumbest question in existance. Here is a better one - what happens to us before we are born?

If we are talking in game, I think that if it is canon then the Shivering Isles DLC is probably the answer to that one. At least for specifically the Hero of Kvatch, our character.

Overall in the series, there seem to be multiple afterlives possible. Like we know Sovngarde exists for Nords thanks to actually visiting it in Skyrim and we know that Hircine's hunting grounds also exists for lycanthropes thanks to both Morrowind and Skyrim (plus that's an Oblivion realm for a daedric prince, which already checks out. Presumably loyalty to, corruption by, or a deal with Daedric princes can potentially give them claim over your soul), plus the Soul Cairn for those who get soul trapped (which may supersede most other claims on a soul). It seems that in the Elder Scrolls universe, there are a lot of afterlives a person can end up with depending on their origins, beliefs, actions, and agreements (and whether or not they got soul trapped just before dying).

If we are talking about real life though, not my problem. Either I'll find out when i get there or I won't be in a state of being capable of caring what happened. We all die, we all find out too late, i find it better to worry about stuff i can actually do something about.

End up in Azuras Star and then hopefully some nice shiny armour and not some sweaty mages pants.
