Will have to disagree with you on the journal system though. While I do hate how it started the now all too common all-knowing questarrow that everyone made fun of back then, but is an expected feature today (I die a little inside as I read how people are complaining about the lack of questarrows on the forums of Divinity:original sin), I think it worked really great. Maybe the best I have seen in any game despite the all too large font size. Skyrim did a lot worse with this in comparison.
I do find it odd however that you didnt list the really big problems with the game, like the level scaling of weapons and enemies though.
In comparison to Morrowind though, I will admit that Morrowind is a much better game than Oblivion in almost all areas. Not in combat though, and not in sidequests either. And the latter is the area where Oblivion truly shines. Despiter all of its problems, Obliivion is still one of my favorite games of all time thanks to its side quests, which I still consider to be the best compared to ANY game released before or since then.
Oh, and then there is the large modding community :)
NPC writing for the whole series has been rather consistent and rather weak. There are notable characters in all but most are cardboard cutouts. Welcome to videogaming. Theres only so much to be done.
The Journal is bad. Map Markers are bad. What the actual ♥♥♥♥ do you want them to do?
Being a fan is not an issue or a problem. What I take issue with is this accusation being leveoled against some strawman fanboy where they seem to go around and tell people how perfect the game is.,, Something I have never seen being done by Oblivion or Skyrim fans and have seen done by Morrowind fans. Where the ♥♥♥♥ to get off trying to logical fallacy us into not liking something. Being a fan does not make you blind to its faults you moron.
What really grind my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gears is this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sentence.
Don't use the same logical fallacies that your using on us against YOUR favorite game? The ♥♥♥♥ outta here troll. And clearly its not a small percentage since it sold as wsell as it did.
4/10 for making me respond. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot.
This Oblivion thread was made in response to the linked thread's op in the Morrowind forums. While I didn't make this response thread I believe the point was to show how what was said was equally applicable to all the Elder Scrolls games and to point out what a troll\hypocrite the original poster actually was.
This thread was recently necroed by someone, who went on to delete all thier posts, who figured out that this thread's op was copied and felt the need to point it out.
As far as I understand it, this particular thread is a joke, I wouldn't bother taking it seriously.
Hey, at least you got a discussion after 2 years! :D
