There are probably other mods which increase trader purses so you can get closer to the full value but I would prefer to keep it. Put it on display as it sounds like a noteworthy piece.
This mod is worth installing because of how small and useful it is. It gives you a spell that you can cast on a container and it will tell you if it's safe storage or not. It's very reliable and you can trust what it tells you 100%.

All storage containers that appear in houses you buy are always safe so you don't need to check them but in places like guilds most storage containers will be part of the 72 hour reset rule which means every three days the contents is reset to something else. If you have placed something in there and don't retrieve it in time it can be lost forever and it's impossible to know when the reset will strike so they are to be avoided at all costs.
The Imperial Furniture Mod comes in handy because you can use it to place safe storage chests anywhere you like including in guild buildings. No other NPC will ever be able to access it and it will never reset so everything you buy from the shop is safe to use for your most valued possessions. There are also much more than chests for sale.
