Tried it now, but wasn't able to get it to work. What exactly do I have to do?
I downloaded the software from github and copied it into my /usr/local/bin directory and all other files into /usr/share/stl (as described in the README file).
Then I added the string
Now when I try to launch the game from steam I get a popup window for 2 seconds, and if I am quick enough I have the opportunity to edit the game's config there. What exactly am I supposed to change/add in that config file? Because the game itself still doesn't launch...
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Edit: Strange thing - when trying to launch the game with stl something got installed but the game still wouldn't launch. But after that I tried to launch the game again WITHOUT the stl %command% and now it shows the starting screen at least (what it didn't before). But after that it still crashes.
Things you can check/try:
- popup should contain text: " tweakfile '/usr/share/stl/tweaks/user/223220.conf' found, the game should 'just work' using it!". If it's not there, then something wrong with the way you installed stl
- looks like stl use winetricks for hacking wmp10 installation. Maybe your winetricks outdated
- maybe something failed to download/installed, try to remove the wine prefix and launch the game again
For me, the game just works. The initial setup takes A LOT of time, but after that, no problems (at least at first level - didn't play much).
Oh look my Steam Machine has become another Windows 10 system and now everything runs fine. I hope we will get something that is totally locked down. Maybe a processor that only works for Windows. After that Microsoft is able to collect fees from game distribution systems nice and easily.

As I started to get Twisted Dreams running on Wine the first problem was that the Black Forest Games Logo need the installation of a Windows Media Player.
But even with custom patches for Wine Staging Nine and Mesa this beast had render and stability issues.
At first my controller wasn't properly recognized, but that was probably due to years of tinkering. Deleting the Proton prefix fixed that.
So you played all levels?
We already were able to play this game in old Wine versions but shadow calculation and stability was in general a big problem.
No, I've only started yesterday and played the first four or five levels. Haven't noticed any issues so far.
ProtonDB ratings[www.protondb.com] from the past few months (since the launch options were first mentioned in a GitHub issue) are all positive.
