Will there be a new Giana Sister game? Other similar games to recommed?

It's been a while and was wondering if there are plans for future Giana Sisters game. It's one of the few platformers I really love on PC. At the same time, got anything new to recommend similar to the essence of this franchise? Thanks

There's really nothing quite like it. I would say if you enjoy it as much as I do and you have a Nintendo Swtich, buy the OWLtimate Edition as it has five extra exclusive stages no other version has. Back on the PC if you haven't yet, get the Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams Rise Of The OWLverlord expansion pack. Gives you the fourth world not in the base game.

As for other PC platformers, some of the really good ones I've enjoyed over the last few years include VVVVVV (Blends in Metroidvania elements), OWLBoy (blends adventure game elements in), Bubsy Woolies Strike Back is actually a good game, if a bit easy, and runs on the Giana Sisters Engine as Black Forest Games made that one for Accolade.

Others would include Freedom Planet which is a really good Sonic like. Rad Rodgers which is a throwback to Apogee/3DRealms early MS-DOS platformers and is pretty fun. Plus Jon St. John (Duke Nukem) voices one of the main characters I got that one on the Switch. You might also like Get A Grip Chip which has a lot of fun puzzle elements along with a Bionic Commando swinging mechanic. It's like cybernetic Kirby. It's pretty great. And while it's more of an action platformer, give Halloween Forever a try. It's super cute but super tough Ghosts 'N Goblins type fun.

A lot later but i would recommend Ori and the blind forest. Great graphics, soundtrack and tough as nails platformer combined with some metroidvania elements.
