The Mages Guild/Telvanni hostility is rather overblown; once you’ve advanced a few ranks in either faction, neither faction minds the conflict enough to be noticeable.
Telvanni has some interesting quests too. And their philosophy is rather silly (ancap wizards ftw). :)
some of the better rewards for house telvanni:
aryons helper, gloves which summon 3 creatures at the same time. flame atronach 120 seconds, frost atronach 90 seconds, storm atronach 60 seconds.)
this item can really help with killing things quickly
aryons dominator, gloves which have command humanoid and creature 15 points for 120 seconds (touch for humanoids, target for creatures). this item can really help with certain kill quests, you can make an non hostile npc follow you to a secure area where you can kill them without anyone interfering.
ring of equity, spell absorbation 100% for 30 seconds on self, reflect 70% for 30 seconds on self. it is one of the strongest defensive items against enemy spellcasters.
Ondusi's key (ring with open 50 points on touch) can open a lot of locks in the game.
amulet of admonition (paralyze 30 seconds on target and 1-2 frost dmg for 30 seconds)
if you combine some of these items you can kill plenty of people without getting hit at all and without doing much yourself.
engage in combat, paralyze them with the amulet than use the gloves called aryons helper to summon creatures. they will deal a lot of dmg to the enemy.
if things go badly and you are facing a spellcaster you can use ring of equity to defend yourself.
some of the other rewards:
Gothren's Cephalopod Helm (summon dremora 120 seconds, bound helm 120 seconds)
amulet of unity, fortify intelligence, willpower, alteration, conjuration, destruction, illusion, mysticism, restoration 5 points for 120 seconds.
the telvanni quests are a bit of everything, killing, looting, stealing, learning spells, delivering items.
it should be noted that they have some quests which might be worth not completing, since the item you get for the quest is worth more than the reward.
these items include:
Auriels bow: very weak bow which is worth 15k gold in the museum.
Amulet of flesh made whole: restore health 1-150 points on self for 1 second, cure poison, cure common disease. cure blight disease. restore agility, endurance, strength, personality for 5-15 points (for all restore effects)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
their characters are also pretty interesting, especially their higher ranking members. they are much more colorful than any of the leaders of the other houses.
one of their upper management is a female which hates males
another has gone absolutely insane
than there are 2 which i can name but i will hide why they are special with spoiler tags, their exploits are pretty impressive.
Divayth Fyr
one who used magic to make female clones of himself to be his daughters/wives, its pretty messed up but one cannot help but admire the very simple fact that he managed to do it.
he is also running a sanctuary for people with an incurable disease which shelters (among others) the last of the dwemer (the absolute authority on the dwemer in this game, comes in handy for the mages guild. it is worth noting that the dwemer where the enemies of the dunmer before they disappeared.
his captain of the guard is an argonian, one who used to be his slave but which he set free and is now his friend.
he can also open up portals to oblivion and travel to pretty much any of the realms. (mentioned in a book called "the doors to oblivion")
he is also the only one with his own tower and thus land which does not sit on the council. he has no interest in politics. its pretty impressive that he can hold on to that land without any (official) political power
Baladas Demnevanni, one of the great sources on the dwemer.
managed to get a dwemer shock centurion working which he later gives you as a reward, with the help of some books he can also answer questions on the dwemer that (almost) no one else can answer, something which comes in handy for the mages guild.
Telvanni magic item rewards include but aren't limited to:
Ring of equity (insanely powerful)
Robe of Drake's pride (don't give it to neloth, he's a ♥♥♥♥)
Aryons dominator
Aryons helper (summons all 3 atronachs at once)
Enchanted daedric cuirass and Greaves OR Auriels bow (the same one from Skyrim dawnguard expansion)
Staff of silver dawn OR Glass jinkblade
Amulet of admonition and surefeet
Amulet of flesh made whole
Amulet of spell absorption
Amulet of unity
Definitely the best magic rewards. Mages guild only really has the necromancers amulet, which is very good as well, but you can also get it as telvanni by just killing arch mage trebonius.
As we’re just listing them off at this point:
Ring of Fire Storm & Ring of Toxic Cloud can potentially be obtained at level 1, ‘if’ you don’t mind murdering some pesky slaves in cold blood.

Supposedly the reason Dratha hates men is because she she bargains with a Dremora in exchange for immortality. The terms of her Daedric contract state that the Dremora will return in the guise of a mortal man to claim her soul. - but that's ESO lore so take that with a massive pile of
Therana is "touched by Sheogorath" which is only to be expected when you're making a collection of artifacts taking from his shrines.
Lol yeah, it gets weirder when you find out that he bangs some of his "daughters".
No they're clones of himself basically. So it's just masturbation lol
