Unable to play with friends

me and my friend started the game and it shows hes offline even though hes joining the same version we turned it on an off we logged out and logged in nothing is working i really want to play with him i dont know what to do.

Sorry to hear it.
When you say the same version I assume you have the same DLCs, both are on a Steam version too. As you need Ubisoft Connect for the game to launch, make sure you are both set to available in Ubisoft Connect status.

we are it just says we are both offline when we both know we are in game and we can only connect by spamming the invite button like 10 mins of frustration later.

Please check your router settings. Looks for security / firewall if these are set to high and if yes, try lowering them one degree.

Can you try launching the game from UC directly and see if that makes it any easier to connect to each other?

i turn firewall to low while playing and i have to always launch from steam because if i launch directly it always crashes and ive sent a hundred crash reports already. its a lovely game but like alot of issues that only occur on this game. csgo and valorant and rdr2 and minecraft i can play with no issues.
