Crash to desktop after 30 sec in-game

Hey I'm I the only one? I just installed the game, as soon as I get in the game, game loaded and can move my character, 30sec later the game crash to desktop. No crashing windows to let me know what crashed or anything. Plain crash to desktop and nothing else. I tried a few times now and it keeps doing the same.

Anybody else?

I got the Ultimate version and I run on a R9 5900X + 3090

Might have to leave Ubisoft launcher open and active for it to work on steam.. does that with EA launcher when linked with steam.

I played the Ubisoft version before and keeps crashing for no reason. Turns out it's MSI Afterburner running in the background. If you have that application installed, I suggest turning it off while playing the game. If not, I still think it's some applications that messes with the game. It's a very sensitive game to be honest.

Yeah I tried to let the game running on the menu, character selection screen and no issue, no crash. As soon as I jump in the game, between 30sec and 1min later, crash to desktop. @Kilz Inc.™ I think you are right, it must be something like that. I haven't tried to disable Afterburner (I do have it installed). I would if the game was on a fresh release and would be updated on a weekly basis but it's 3 yrs old now so I'm not going to fight with the game to keep it running. I mean, a lot of gamers are using Afterburner. 3 yrs was plenty enough to fix that kind of issue. 3 yrs ago, I tried to game, I'm trying today and still having issues. Sorry Ubisoft but I'm out. Refund

I'll give it another later I guess, if they fix the stability of the game.

off topic i have that crap with cod mw2 only game that makes my amd readon software crash and whole pc. just crazy. i am thinking to buy this game for 24 its no money for ultimate edition

Not the first time or the first game we have heard of where MSI afterburner crashes it.
Word of advice never have that junk running in the background
and its a program that really isnt needed if you know anything about computers yourself.

When you launch the game from steam it should give you two options one being vulkan and one being dx11, however if you don't see those or are launching from ubisoft connect there is probably a setting in settings somewhere but I just use the launch option personally so idk where it would be.

Considering how it seems to randomly just work fine even if nothing was changed is bizarre to me.

It crashed seconds into loading the game in DX11 as admin, then when switching to vulkan and running as admin it ran fine when it didn't before.

I also always get a message that cloud saving didn't work.
