Can you quickly defeat a Behemoth with teammate snipers riding on helicopter?
Hi,

Someone suggested that I clear bases by equipping all 3 teammates with TAC-50 and putting them on a helicopter and flying over the base.

Can you do this for a Behemoth tank?
This is because, I would like to quickly get the Vector, and it is guarded by a Behemoth.

Best way I have found is to attack it with a vehicle with a mounted weapon and just circle around the behemoth. If you can get a hold of the LC-4, it will waste a behemoth in like 2 shots. Tried it with helos and never had any luck with it. The longer way or what I usually do, is to use grenades and mines then finish off with a TAC-50.

If you use a helicopter you have to be a certain height from it so it can not lock on to ya.

The fastest way is to sneek in undetected get what you want- get out. Realize if you take AI in with you they may get run over. They are far from smart.
Your right the AI in Breakpoint are dumber than a box of Hammers, I'll be aiming at a target and then one of them will walk right in front of my sights, you never walk in front of the business end of a weapon. They never did this in Wildlands.

This also compromises your lock on = USELESS!
you are right about your lock on but you can fire blind at it and still hit it.

I've used helo's to kill Behemoths and their cousin the Byleth. I don't think using snipers on the outside will work very well as the snipers will need some stability or at least a smooth flight path to aim and hit their target. Also I have found the NPC gunners to be inconsistent in their rules of engagement sometimes leaving you, the pilot or driver, high and dry. You would need to hover near some sort of cover you could quickly duck the chopper behind to make a SAM (surface to air missile) hit the obstruction instead of you. NOTE: These choppers seem to want to 'float' and don't lose altitude very quickly so dodging sideways is a much quicker approach or moving forward or back than trying to drop altitude behind a hill, building or rock. So I would guess that opportunities for that approach might be quite limited.

My approach is to establish a loop or 'racetrack' around the drones area. This track will allow me to use terrain following for most of the route to keep me below SAM lock on altitude or behind local terrain. Then allow me to either pop out from behind cover or pop up and quickly fire a salvo of either missiles or rockets from the rocket pod chopper. Bought the latter from the game store with cash earned in play. So I don't stop and hover. I don't wait for lock on. I keep constantly circling the drone's area on the 'racetrack' route I established. You can get hits without lock on with the missile bird. I generally try to time my route so I can fire the missile as soon as it makes detection - note detection not lock on. Then quickly get behind a rock protrusion or hill or building, etc. But I never stop, it is a continuous, fairly high speed loop around the drone's home base - most of which is behind some sort of Hard Cover not just concealment. The drones seem to have an almost super natural ability to track your helo. If my bird is exposed at places along the track, it isn't for long at any one place. This keeps the drone from achieving lock on against me.

Trying to destroy Behemoths with helicopters can be rather slow. I find the AI to be rather inconsistent against them. They're also quite resistant to explosive damage from rockets, and minigun helicopters are just too difficult to aim with imo.

If you want to make quick work of them, I recommend bringing an LMG. First you want to get as close to it as you can while remaining undetected, then open the fight with an EMP or explosive to stun it. After that, you can pretty much stun-lock it with LMG fire as you circle it and destroy the glowing blue weakpoints. By the time it can move and fight back again, it should already be close to destruction.

Yep you are right, it's slow. But, fun to do as a what if challenge or if you just like to fly. It's is a good challenge because of the SAMs and figuring out your approach to the problem. Like some people like the pop up method which is perfectly legit. I also like changing to the Pathfinder. Then alternate using their own drone against the Behemoth then snipe and run. Using the overhead missile is great for knocking armor plate off so the sniper rounds can get in and do some damage. And yep, that takes a good bit of time. LMGs do a lot a damage so your approach is faster if speed is your thing. Me I like to take my time, explore, figure out the AI's limits and use their own behavior against them. To a lot of people the game seems, from what I see, like a race. I guess I prefer to slow it down as you would in the real world, explore, play side missions and so on. Get my money's worth out of it that way but it's mostly just my way of doing things.
