Noob question: How do I deal with drone/turret defense systems?
I'm a vet far cry player. In far cry, I always shoot out the alarms so there are no reinforcements.

In breakpoint, I've tried to take out a base, and I'm ok with the soldiers but then the turrets spot me...is there anything I can do to disable turrets?

Shoot them or the generator that powers them or go to the turret itself and turn it off or turn off the generator that powers them. Also it's the single radio operator that calls for reinforcements so once he's dead (usually just one on base) you are good.

There are several ways to approach this depending upon your experience and level. I'll address this assuming no significant experience or special equipment [such as the active camo reward given in Operation Motherland]. I shall address two scenarios.

You don't have AI teammates and a drone:
1) you are on foot, so must try to surveil your objective from a high vantage point, from higher ground, or from atop a structure of some kind. Use your binoculars to spot enemies, grenade launchers, automated turrets, and power generators. With a silenced long-range weapon, knock out the generator. If you are unable to secure an elevated position, for instance, wish to attack an encampment on level ground, spot the enemies and use stealth to explore, searching for the generator.

2) Find an armed chopper, preferably one with a chain gun. Choppers with non-seeking missile launchers can be tricky, and ones with seeking missiles won't lock onto generators, although they will target vehicles and turrets. Fly above your objective, looking for the generator. Take one out, and you won't have to target the turrets and launchers, but if you can't find the generator, then you can destroy the automated threats with your chain gun.

Note: Keep an eye out for SAM sites. When targeting enemies, relocate after firing, using prone cover when you reach your new position. You can deactivate the small grenade launchers and turrets by hand, as well as the generators. You can hack turrets and use them to your advantage. but the SAM sites will have to be destroyed with explosives.

You have AI teammates and a drone:
The drone is very handy. Use it to find the generator. Take it out first, with or without a chopper. You can strafe the target area and the enemies within it, but be wary of taking too much damage that will cripple your bird, forcing you to crash-land. As when solo, when you are afoot with AI teammates, relocate after sync-firing enemy targets, going to ground at a different position to take advantage of prone camo. Rinse and repeat.
