This game has absolutely nothing to do with Ghost Recon at all.
Having played pretty much all Ghost Recon games and still enjoying the original (proper) Ghost Recon from 2001, I don't see why they have wandered off what made this franchise what it is ?

This feels like a watered down Far Cry or the latest Splinter Cell (without all the tactical thinking) at best.

Furthermore they seem to have injected quite a lot of political agenda into this as well, in regards to gender and so on.

Why not make a new game? Why bother calling it Ghost Recon.

I guess the younger generation of players likes this stuff...

The money that one can amass by making their game open world and co-op.

Yes, yes, heard it before. I remember people being grumpy about a good third of the best soldiers you could get in the first Ghost Recon being women too. These people lived through it, and you'll live through this too.

Mostly seen thirty-somethings and fourty-somethings play Wildlands and Breakpoint after the dust settled, personally.

Speak for yourself. 49 and loving the game.

41, couldn't bring myself to finish wildlands due to it's repetitive missions. same went for breakpoint but mostly because ubi showed no interest is giving older players what they wanted i.e. offline play.

to get my tactical fix i play t-hunt on old builds of siege.

I think most players on here, would not even pass the first mission in the original Ghost Recon and certainly not without trying around 20 times.

That's due to the quality of gamers decreasing in general. They didn't have only 3 lives to beat Mario and Sonic with. Old games demanded professionalism and forged hardcore gamers. Modern ones let anyone reach the finish the line.

I'm truly thankful to be a part of fandoms like GR that constantly remind me that we're fast becoming the nagging adults we hated as kids without even realizing it. Ah, the kids of today don't know anything, back in MY day we had REAL [insert value/skill here].

yeah ok whatever. I played all those games and beat a lot of them. The difficulty, like many games today, were overcome when you learned where to stand, where to jump from etc... I get nostalgia drunk as much as the next guy but this is silly and so cliche.
I would way rather play modern games than those old ones. I imagine you would as well or you wouldn't be on these forums. You 'd be blowing the dust from your old coleco vision.
That being said the addictive-ness of the old games was not near as they are now and I had a lot more creative hobbies back then , that's for sure. Once the PS1 came out it was all over.
