That's my answers to your questions.
1. Yes. (Make sure to buy gold or ultimate edition, because they have season pass with additional storyline).
2. I didn't encountered any bugs that would prevent me enjoying the game. (I use Direct x 11 launch option. Vulkan doesn't work for me for some reason).
3. My guess is: there is a number of reasons -
- The game needs internet connection
- There're no Steam achievements
- Many people just hate Ubisoft (and not without a reason)
- Some people have bought the basic edition of this game and hate that they have to pay for additional content (DLCs).
2. Only bug I've run into so far is an enemy solder getting stuck and repeatedly walking into something in front of them.
3. Reviews are probably mixed because the game was originally set up to be a "loot" driven game, and that flopped. Now you can play immersive mode, which is the way to play it in my opinion and you can also tweak a lot of the options like turning off most of the drones which makes it way less annoying. So it started out as a pretty bad game, but a lot of that stuff has been fixed but it still left a very sour impression for most people.
You can sum it all up with one word why it's mixed.
That word is Ubisoft. They excel at mid, copy & paste games.
As the first guy said, buy gold or ultimate edition for the complete story, which should tell you enough.
