Make sure your video drivers are updated and that your gpu isn't overheating, but you might need to buy a new gpu very soon.
So, as discussed around here before, to force DX11 you need to add this line to your launch options.
"Your drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\Ghost Recon Breakpoint/grb.exe" %command%
or for vulkan
"Your drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\Ghost Recon Breakpoint/grb_vulkan.exe" %command%
I certainly hope it's not the case... This is the only game that causes such problem. GPU highest temperature is 80'C as shown by Armoury Crate. When I tried Wildlands on my old laptop, when temperature went too high, the game just dropped fps to cool GPU off.
This is workaround if you're opening via Steam, no? I just use shortcut GRB.exe. There's noticable difference between Vulkan and DX11, I'm sure it's DX11.
that's correct, for Steam launches via steam made desktop shortcut or directly from Steam games list.
I guess that depends on who/what made the shortcut and whether you bought from Steam.
The only way to know for sure is to have something like afterburner verify which api is in use.
Regarding RMJ's post, Graphics cards do show signs of stress/imminent GPU failure from heat (sparkles). AND they can also exhibit bad memory issues (blocks/lines) on screen.
p.s. I personally can't tell the difference between Vulkan and DX11 on my 6700xt. which.. should I mention again, I use afterburner to keep me informed.
I have been having the same problem and at first I also thought it was my GPU, but the objectives and subtitles are still displaying clearly without any artifacts so I don't think it is the GPU.
One easy thing to try is a new high speed cable HDMI/DP. That's a lot of info being moved around and a crappy cable/old tech could be an issue.
