I'm running on the hardest settings I can get and it's still too easy as soon as you realize all you have to do is sneak around and do silencer headshots. I had to promise myself to stop using SyncShot after I realized it was basically a free "beat the game" button with a 30 second cooldown. No need to get up close and personal with anyone, just sit back off of whatever base you're attacking and just plink the guards one at a time until there's basically no one left. Treat it like a stealth shooter, try to never get into 2 way firefights if you can.
Just use a silenced AR or DMR and point and click on guards heads from 100-300 yards away for 80 hours and you'll 100% the game on the hardest difficulty without hardly any issues.
Yes, I am asking how to run without markers and going no HUD. Since, I'll have to be careful running into guards that I no longer see with their markers on. Hehe.
I recently just made the transition myself to play without markers. Turn off mini map. With markers still on, load the perk “sixth sense”. This will mark anyone who is within 25m. This will keep just your close surroundings marked keeping enemies from sneaking up on you. When you get to a base or outpost stop using your drone to look around. Just use your eyes so enemies will not get marked but you can get a look where they are. Basically you mark with your gun sights as you move in. Look around and mark your snipers and roof top guys. If in range take them out. Bullet lure is your friend. You can throw it to a spot to alert enemies and know where they are. You may not see them because they are over 25m away and may be behind a wall or in a room etc. Also if one is alerted and there are enemies nearby they will join the conversation indicating that there are more than one close by. Conversely if you throw a bullet lure to a spot and you hear nothing then you know that you can move to that spot. Also a bullet lure can be used to get them to look away so you can just sneak by. Only mark enemies as you go. Eventually I got to a point where it started to aggravate me when enemies got marked when I didn’t want them to. I know the enemy is there but I just wanted to bypass them and get to an objective. At that point I just turned off markers and never looked back.
Once you go without markers, start on easy with maximum health with detection guage on. Use the same tactics as above but now implement your drone. Check rooftops for Elton John’s (rocket men) and snipers. Work at the edge of the base and stay on the outside and go around picking off alone enemies as you go around. Use the bullet lure to bring them out one at a time. Then slowly work towards the center. If you get spotted keep moving unless you are in a good defensive position. When they are alerted “yellow” you can still pick off alone enemies (with your silencer on) without them getting a fix on your position.
