Single Player must be Online?
So even playing single player we have to be online?
If it does not have to be online, will it beat Wildlands?

they did surveys back when the game was on ubi connect, back when ubi still had a proper forum and they concluded that DRM was more important than player enjoyment.

Even though most advanced countries don't think broadband internet connection as a big issue, because it's relatively cheap compared to their monthly salary, but 80% other people around the world would consider it a big obstacle to play the game. I'm pretty sure that only upper-middle class economy people in most Asian countries can enjoy this. That is if they are willing to buy this game in the first place.

But the worst part about persistent online connection is that we are "renting the game" rather than buying it. So if the servers are shut down, the game is practically worthless. In fact it's a huge loss to all players around the world. We have to "purchase" the game in advance, then "rent it" for as long as the servers are functional.

Oh Ubisoft, how thou have fallen so deep down into the abyss.

As much as I agree that offline play should always be an option for singleplayer games I see no reason for that paranoia because they most likely would just release an offline patch for the game if they ever decide to close their servers.

The only reason this game was not cracked as of yet is because of the always online DRM, now whether that's a good thing or not is another discussion.

Nope, unless the dev has promised an offline patch, then the game is vaporware. People need to stop being sheep and stand up as consumers. We should own what we pay our hard earned money for and have access to it whenever we want. Don't be a 1984 drone.

Some people like me are still doing the silent wallet thing.. I keep coming back to check and see if their 'greedlock' as I call it has been lifted. That's what it is really, and they are restraining their own profits by it severely. All because of the fear that a few scum bags are going to be able to play their precious game for free.. I can't imagine the amount of money they are losing, and have lost because of this nonsense. Even now if they were to somehow lift it and allow singleplayer offline play I would be lining up with many others to pay the going rate. Until then companies that do this can kiss my ass, as that's the closest their ever going to get to my cash!

Says the sheep, parroting nonsense and crying about games requiring internet connection in 2023. The irony...

Not crying. And please explain how I am a sheep? Telling the truth. Sorry you are a brainwashed 1984 drone. You will own nothing if you continue in your way of thinking and not standing up for your consumer integrity/rights. Seriously read or watch 1984 and that is what your future looks like lil sheepy.

This might be one of the dumbest responses I have ever heard. A sheep for wanting to be able to play a game that they paid money for? ........ You call him a sheep but yet you are defending a billion dollar company. The irony......

What do you have to say about the EU requiring phones to have changeable batteries in 2023 then? Its 2023 afterall, removable cellphone batteries is so 2010. Why would anyone want to change their batteries themselves? Its 2023 dawg. Just toss out your perfectly good phone and replace it with a new one instead of buying batteries because replaceable batteries is so oldschool. Get with the times bro.

Right to Repair? Who needs to repair anything? Just replace it. Subscriptions are also the way to go. You don't need to own your software (or anything). What? Heated seats being a standard feature in a BMW? Bro that's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ old and outdated. Its 2023, just pay the subscription fee to be able to access the already built-in heated seats.

You guys are very quick to agree with eachother and somehow land exactly on the most popular opinion even if it doesn't make much sense, almost like a herd of sheep. Weird isn't it.

This opinion had some merit in the past, when internet was slow, expensive and DRMs were more detrimental to the user experience.

But none of those seem to be an issue nowadays or with this game, so if you have any valid complaints other than not being able to crack the game, please share.

I'm aware that the game being 'online only' restricts the playerbase a bit, but that's a choice for the developer to make isn't it? I'm not really defending ubisoft, just pointing out that it is silly to complain about a decision made by the developer even knowing of the consequences that come with it.

For now the game is online only, maybe that will change maybe not (afterall many features were already disabled from the game like weekly events), just don't buy the game if that matters to you, learn how to use your money instead of crying about it after being a sheep that already paid for it without even thinking.
