It's on sale, want to play with friends, which version should I buy?

Just looking for some practical advice from the community, rather than opinions on whether it's a good game or not.

I'd just like to know which version is the ideal one - does the "Ultimate" have 'must have' gear in it that the Gold is missing?

if you want to play, be careful. the servers have problems so often, it could well be that you do everything but not play. and the TD2 example shows that these problems can last for months...

It doesn't matter which version, you can't play because you're paying money to not be able to log into the game. The loading screen is the same for all versions.

just get everything while on sale. if you buy the game, your friends can join you without buying it via the buddy pass. they will not be able to play the dlc tho

I'm thinking about buying the game as well, and I definitely don't care about the extra missions on Season Pass, much less cosmetic or few extra items. I'll most likely just pick the base game.

Really doubt the extra content really changes the feel or improve the game that much. Just more of the same.

I just got the Ultimate one cause it was on sale for 80% off. loving this game though and I have not had any problems with the servers yet. Been playing for two days now.

I do want the season pass missions etc, even though I'll probably never complete the game.
Still, that doesn't tell me what advantages Ultimate has over Gold.

Buy Year one pass i recently found out they have more then half of the story behind paywall u can only play 1st missions of episode 2 and 3 on standard edition

I have the Deluxe, and I only do because it was on heavily discounted. And if you're thinking of buying, the Deluxe is good, but only buy it discounted.....its not worth full price with the current constant issues....

The ultimate comes with the same stuff as the gold and added a few more things to it. which version you get depends on what you want in the game. There is no good or bad version. The steam game page for BP has a brief description of what comes with the different versions. It's not the best description but it is all they have. I just went with the ultimate cause it was so cheap right now. Sorry if I was too vague before. But getting the ultimate one will give you everything the game has to date. At least I hope it does lol. I have not checked myself.

The question was clearly not specific enough. You see, I can see that the Ultimate version has more items, I'm basically wanting to know if they are game enhancing items.

I've researched it. No one answers this. The Ultimate version, which I bought, it turns out, those extra weapons that it mentions - they are just reskins of items you already get in game.

In other words, the Ultimate isn't worth it IMO. Gold is fine.
