Confused on how to play this
How does the story progression work? I just started and reached the lil hub area and I accidentally started chapter 3. I'm totally confused as to whats goin on in the story, it seems theres no checks to prevent you from jumping around the campaign chapters.

Also was walker a DLC character or something cause I played wild years ago and I dont remember him at all and the game shows him like Im supposed to remember him.

Most people have had the same issues. First don't bother yourself with the "Story" it so over the top convoluted most people skip through the dialogue.
Open up the mission tab and go to Jace skell in Chapter one. Click on him and do that mission and subsequent mission having to do with him. Then under him in the mission tab are Pamela and Carl etc... do them next.
To the right of them on the mission tab is Auroa side missions, do them as you come across them. You will see them as orange dots/markers on the map tab. On the mission tab to the right are green outcast missions. Do those as you come across them. They are labeled as green dots on the map tab. Overall there is no real order to do the missions as they will take you all over the map to complete them. You can click on any yellow, green or orange dot on the map and just do that mission and not really follow any order.
Yes Walker was in Wildlands. I believe an update to the game.

This confused me, too, since naturally you'd think grabbing all the missions in Erewhon would get you started on the main campaign specifically. If you look at the top left corner of the mission, where it's yellow (to indicate a main mission), you will see a number 1, 2, or 3. If you want to focus on doing the main mission of the base game and then move onto the DLC, focus on yellow-coded missions that have a 1 in the top left corner. You can either press B over an area on the map to open the objectives you have in the area (yellow for main, blue for collectibles, green for faction missions, or orange for side missions) or you can go right one tab of the map to click + drag the window around and sort through missions there.

You can choose the missions in the menu
and then follow them
if you are on the map near a mission you can also just follow it and the order can also vary
Yellow missions are main story missions then green missions are fraction missions and randomly generated missions that change daily.
I have also done two missions from chapter 3 and from chapter 1 just started but already done the missions from Mad Schulz and the Outcast.

I play it this way I go out and kill as much as I can from one end of the map to the other, the story isn't all that great.

I see, I just reinstalled wildlands and theres a whole heap of missions they added. I had already 100% the game shortly after release so I never reinstalled it. Having the antagonist of a game be some random guy from a post launch optional mission is bizarre.
