Something Odd with Kill Walker Mission
(playing through Ubisoft)
I've got almost 3,000 hours in this game, and I just discovered something very odd on this playthrough. Usually, when I tackle the mission to kill Walker, I kill all the enemies and that weak behemoth before going after the scumbag himself, but this time I did it differently. I ignored all the enemies as I flew my chopper directly to Walker's bunker, landed, and opened the door to go inside.

When I emerged triumphant, the local map was completely clear of enemies, and the behemoth was nowhere to be seen. Was this an isolated incident, or is it what always happens in this situation?

Oh, well, now I can scrounge resources without fear of molestation.

Your "should have" assumes all players play as you do, emulate your play style. I've never been able to get Walker at first encounter. After a while, I assumed he was invulnerable at that point. I usually prefer to play the long game, anyway; I've never seen the financial sense in rushing through games as fast as I can. I like to take my time. There's no incentive for me to race to the finish line.

You do not have to go to all those silly places to get the info on where he is. Just go to his hilltop base. Kill everyone, hump his ass across the base to the basement door integrate him there.
Oh, yeah- learned that little trick with Blake almost instantly after the first time: "You'd be a fool to try to haul my ass across this base!" was a big clue.

Kill 'em all, and let God sort them out.

When I first started playing this game, I found Walker to be nearly unbeatable. Now it takes me maybe ninety seconds to take him out.

Onlly other mission I find silly is the prison break. When you have to be gunner in the truck as the Slow AI driver takes his time. My comment is Wait you idiots I have a chopper. So I just jump out as he is driving away. Get my chopper and give him proper support. As you cannot hit anything in that bouncing turck. You cannot get far away though or mission will fail. This makes this mission more fun for me.
I'll have to try that. Friggin' hate those damned gunner support missions. You can kill a lot more of the enemies in a chopper.

I have a similar complaint about shotguns in games. In real life, you get hit with a shotgun blast, you are going down! But in games? Might as well be using spitballs blown from a straw.

My dad taught me how to use a rifle when I was fourteen. I must have weighed 67 pounds soaking wet, and when I fired my grandfather's Springfield 30.06 from a prone position, the damned thing nearly broke my collarbone as the recoil lifted my entire body above the waist off of the ground.

I qualified on three small arms weapons when I was in the Navy, but my favorite was the M-14 rifle, but the weapon I most carried was the 1911-A1...but, they only let me have ten rounds at a time; I guess they figured that if I needed more than ten rounds, I'd be dead...and I was on the SAT and BAF teams!

I can identify. Respect. Thank you for your service. I always liked Marines. My best friend was a tunnel rat in 'Nam. His experiences haunted him every waking moment. It was like you could see napalm fire in his eyes. You did NOT ask him what it was like.

I had stuff that haunted me for years made me wake up screaming and swinging. That kind of thing tends to freak women out, not to mention kids. And if someone touched me from behind without warning, BAM! I'd drop 'em by sheer reflex. It would happen at work, and people would all freeze and stare at me like the Devil had just materialized in their midst. I haven't had any of those episodes in a little over twenty years now, but I still can't sleep well; the nightmares are relentless.

Makes for a lot of aggression. That's why I like these games; gives me a socially acceptable way to channel negative impulse behavior. It's therapeutic, actually.
