Same case with resistance and terminator (terminator has been removed from the game due to licensing contract expiring). to access them, change the world parameter in the option.
Okay, so, does this version has all the playable DLCs??
I recommend getting gold for the best bang for the buck, but feel free to get ultimate if you feel those skins/cosmetic and one short mission worth it. The skin definitely prices more than 6$, but those are skins/cosmetic.
So, I completed heli crash sequence at the beginning. As I understand, I will be able to receive Amber Sky mission later in the game, as well as the rest dlcs from gold edition.
OP, you can play amber sky anytime if you turn on the world parameter on option. That been said though, I don't recommend turning it on until you have completed eps 1. For resistance parameter, it best turned on as soon you finished Icarus Blues and resistance side missions (those 6 ones which the last one is Captain Gibson on the mission board).
Seriously, unless you are playing conquest, i do recommend turning resistance on even after you finished the game.
Thank you. I dont get, however, it turning resistance on during main campaign (first playtrough) is wise.
Btw, can you maybe give advise regarding difficulty settings. I went for full immersion, turned gear level off. HUD is minimal. I did not set up all the options on the latest positions, because, as I googled, they do not provide most realistic gameplay. It just becomes very hardcore where enemies eat a lot of bullets but you are getting killed by a single one. Still, so far, it was very easy first 20 minutes or something. AI is kinda dumb. You can kill entire squad with them not reacting properly.
there is so much weapons, and without gear level not easy to understand which is better.
If you getting weapon drops and thought those weapons are loots, those are non permanent weapons that you can lose any time. For blueprint weapons though, while the game tries to make it realistic that they kill enemy easily, upgrades still needed for efficiency. Adding extra accuracy, reduces their recoil, add their range, making consecutive shots easier, or even adding slight bit of damage helps you know? Even it's only a little bit, one ammo for TTK (time to kill) matters on higher difficulty (such as advanced/extreme), or when dealing with behemoth, amaron, etc, or when you are on raid. A gun with high recoil kicks can become low as you invest on handling. A gun with bad accuracy improved with accuracy, or even better accuracy if it's already good to begin with. Extra range for lower damage drop off, and so on. This makes a gun that has high damage, and hard recoil becomes controllable as low recoil gun early on.
That aside, the best weapons on each category (except pistol, lmg, and an assault rifle), are in the endgame, mostly on raid. Even if you think your weapons already suffice, you can still find better one later.
DLC weapons:
-G28-Wilderness (y1 pass): Technically just like G28 that you can easily obtain it's blueprint. in looter, it gives extra bonus when prone camo. A good DMR that uses 7.62, highly accurate and can be fired with burst auto 3 ammo that kills in one burst. Handling and range are pretty okay too. While the DPS are lower than both ARX200 and Koblin, it's way ammo efficient. DMG maxed at 54 and has 400 RPM. Maxed at 57 DMG.
A few guns that you can snatch early and pretty good to start:
-Tac50: A nice, one shot one kill, easy to grab sniper that you should be grabbing after rescuing Maurice Fox. Blueprint Located in the harbor just in the left of the mission.
-VSHD2: Assault rifle with good handling, good recoil, good accuracy, moderate damage, good range. It's all rounder which I could vote for the best starting weapon blueprint in the wild for newbies. Blueprint Located near the starter area. PvP long time favorite for ASR.
-ARX200: A high damage, yet accurate battle rifle with high range and noticeable recoil kicks. Has good RPM (680) and deal one hell of a damage (maxed at 37), rivals LMG and AK47. With handling and recoil being it's downside, the weapon benefits of short, accurate bursts that kills soldier one after another. While normally you wouldn't want to spray the weapon, when upgraded to the full, it become quite controllable, not to mention Assault class level 6 accuracy bonus and two perks with handling like ballistic advantage (+60 range, +30 handling), and gunslinger (+15 Accuracy, +15 Handling per hit) that turns this into somehow like M4A1 ish. One of the best assault rifle and can goes on toe-to-toe with Koblin DPS in immersive mode, assuming you can handle it. Sold in Maria Shop for quite a price, but you can buy it pretty quickly.
-M110: DMR with slightly higher range, slightly faster reload, more attachment options (including iron sight and bipod) and has slightly lower handling than G28. Cost 45k at maria shop (expensive). I could recommend this over G28 for loud, as the compensator in the muzzle makes iron sight shots deadly accurate one after another. Slightly higher range and faster reload compared to G28 can make a difference when fighting behemoth and minitanks. Maxed at 57 dmg.
-OTS-03: Deadly, accurate, yet low firing rate DMR with even more damage than M110/G28, comes with a silencer as default and cannot be removed (looks like we are skipping -20% silencer dmg with this one), very accurate just like M110/G28, but has very low ROF (150 instead of 400), making burst fire impossible and only allow one taps against enemies. It doesn't have much attachment that can be fitted in, but it can be equipped with red dot/4x scope that you can switch at will. Sold in maria shop, and quite expensive at that. Maxed at 64 DMG.
Handguns:
-1911: Located in a small research area in the province of Mount Hodgson, it's lightly guarded and the pistol packs a punch. Can be snatched easily and can be surpressed. The damage is kinda okay but it's a bit more inaccurate than the best ones. Maxed at 31 dmg
-USP Match: Following Lara Croft's treasure hunt (need bivoac accesses to get). A built in compensator version of the USP, with noticeable anti-kick measure. Cannot be silenced. Maxed at 24 DMG
-MK23: High damage, good accuracy, acceptable range, good recoil. Sold in Maria shop for a price. Can be bought early. Maxed at 31 DMG. Also, has the same stat as USP, but the difference is the DMG (higher DMG, same other stats)
-Maxim 9: The reward of reaching echelon level 10, or can be bought in maria shop (different skinned variant). The stealth pistol of my choice (I and still considered the best in the game). Integrally surppressed (didn't get -20% dmg reduction), and has one of the highest accuracy and range in the league. While the recoil is not as good as mk23, it's still manageable. Maxed at 26 DMG.
Daredevil to get:
-P320: Highly accurate, good overall stat and can be obtained for free, this pistol blueprint is located in a behemoth defense area. If you can sneak and grab the pistol, or defeat the behemoth early, go ahead. It's way better than your starter pistol in any case. Maxed at 24 DMG.
-Mid Game weapons:
-Zastava M93: Just like TAC 50, but can be equipped with 10 ammo clip, and armor pierces (one hit juggernaut in the helmet). Cannot be silenced. Obtained after finishing Rosebud. Pretty much a direct upgrade from TAC-50 apart of non silencer part. I mean, it pierces almost everything.
-Sharp Thunder: Only use if you don't use snipers. Revolver with 92 damage if maxed. 6 ammos, uses 0.330 (sniper rounds) like desert eagle, and even more accurate than deagle. Obtained after finishing Walker.
End game weapons:
-Koblin: Nomad's Signature Assault Rifle. 800 RPM, 32 damage if maxed (opposed to 37 for ARX), very controllable recoil, medium accuracy. Pairing up with accuracy +20 in bivoac and accuracy perks make this weapon a killer. In looter mode, it gets extra 30% dmg to drones. Obtainable in Raids, Gargoyle boss (2nd) at normal/critical mode.
-M82 Cerberus: Hardest hitting sniper, extra +20 damage from normal M82 and another +50 in looter. Technically a rapid semi-automatic sniper with high damage and piercing. Can be silenced as well. Obtainable in Raids, Cerberus Boss (4th/last) at critical mode. This is, in my opinion, the best sniper in the game. Two shots of this weapon either in looter or immersive will explode a technical or a chopper, with delay between shot are just about 1 to 1 and half second, it just blow up everything.
While VSHD2 has good handling and accuracy and used mostly in pvp, with correct attachments, perk, and by using assault class at level 6, ARX200 completely outshine it, especially if it's fully upgraded (compared to fully upgraded VSHD2). Considering it's purchasable in Maria shop, I recommend this gun instead of VSHD2.
As for TAC50, it's good starting sniper, you can get it early as I describe earlier, technically located on the pier just in the left of Maurice Fox's mission. Though, later in the endgame, I either use M93 (before raid) and M82 Cerb (after raid). Two consecutive shot from M82 Cerberus explodes a technical/small helicopter, about 3-4 shots to heavy helis.
Hope this helps.
Woooow, thank you. I will certainly will be looking for obtaining different weapons and trying them!
Now I just need to figure out which class should I use...
If you like to be a frontline and able to hold with assault rifle/shotgun, use assault
if you like to be as support and revive people, or can self revive if you fall down or something, medic
if you like sending drones to enemy taking cover, engineer.
if you like to snipe (using either dmr/sniper), sharpshooter
if you like to hit and run in stealth playing smg, panther
if you like to stealth with pistol, echelon
if you like to be a person who like to avoid direct fights, pathfinder
Personally though, Assault class is the easiest to use, considering you can put two different ammo type of assault rifle (one heavy hitter battle rifle like arx with 7.62 ammo and one assault with good recoil like vshd2 with 5.56 ammo) and gets the class bonus.
It's ultimate doesn't really notable, but it's passive is pretty solid with extra 1 health bar, injury prevention, and boost accuracy and mobility of assault rifle and shotgun by 20 points.
