I just started the game and a few things bother me:
I play immersive mode so I don't know if this is intended.
- The missions ask me to go everywhere on the map, there is no starting region? So I use the helicopter just from the beginning of the game ? Before reaching main hub, the game was a bit of survival, it's strange to start with an helicopter then...
- the game proposes me to add AI team mates to level them up. But their ability of synchronized shot is too strong. Basically every 30sec I can one shot 3 ennemies for free wherever they are... Is this the game design balance ?
- the loot is useless without stats. I already found good weapons and don't really need upgrades. Is the loot just for completionists ?
- no map HUD is ok. But then I miss to be warned about my search status. Only sound can tell me and sometimes it's not obvious.
- many perks are related to the marking of enemies, but this is disabled in immersive mode. I perfectly understand that seeing an icon of the enemy through the walls is a cheat. But what system is supposed to replace that then?

This game was released without AI teammates at launch and designed for singleplayer/coop experience. However, considering it's predecessor, wildlands, have team ai with this feature, ubi added teammates as "optional" as you can toggle them on or off. I usually just use them as is without using sync shot. Also, if you are asking them by marking enemies for sync shot, they won't be able to fire unless their targets is down. Your xp gained by teammate kills are halfed.

If you getting weapon drops and thought those weapons are loots, those are non permanent weapons that you can lose any time. For blueprint weapons though, while the game tries to make it realistic that they kill enemy easily, upgrades still needed for efficiency. Adding extra accuracy, reduces their recoil, add their range, making consecutive shots easier, or even adding slight bit of damage helps you know? Even it's only a little bit, one ammo for TTK (time to kill) matters on higher difficulty (such as advanced/extreme), or when dealing with behemoth, amaron, etc, or when you are on raid. A gun with high recoil kicks can become low as you invest on handling. A gun with bad accuracy improved with accuracy, or even better accuracy if it's already good to begin with. Extra range for lower damage drop off, and so on. This makes a gun that has high damage, and hard recoil becomes controllable as low recoil gun early on.

That aside, the best weapons on each category (except pistol, lmg, and an assault rifle), are in the endgame, mostly on raid. Even if you think your weapons already suffice, you can still find better one later.

A few guns that you can snatch early and pretty good to start:
-Tac50: A nice, one shot one kill, easy to grab sniper that you should be grabbing after rescuing Maurice Fox. Blueprint Located in the harbor just in the left of the mission.
-VSHD2: Assault rifle with good handling, good recoil, good accuracy, moderate damage, good range. It's all rounder which I could vote for the best starting weapon blueprint in the wild for newbies. Blueprint Located near the starter area. PvP long time favorite for ASR.
-ARX200: A high damage, yet accurate battle rifle with high range and noticeable recoil kicks. Has good RPM and deal one hell of a damage, rivals LMG and AK47. With handling and recoil being it's downside, the weapon benefits of short, accurate bursts that kills soldier one after another. While normally you wouldn't want to spray the weapon, when upgraded to the full, it become quite controllable, not to mention Assault class level 6 handling bonus that turns this into somehow like M4A1 ish. One of the best assault rifle and can goes on toe-to-toe with Koblin DPS in immersive mode, assuming you can handle it. Sold in Maria Shop for quite a price, but you can buy it pretty quickly.

Handguns:
-1911: Located in a small research area in the province of Mount Hodgson, it's lightly guarded and the pistol packs a punch. Can be snatched easily and can be surpressed. The damage is kinda okay but it's a bit more inaccurate than the best ones.
-USP Match: Following Lara Croft's treasure hunt (need bivoac accesses to get). A built in compensator version of the USP, with noticeable anti-kick measure. Cannot be silenced.
-MK23: High damage, good accuracy, acceptable range, good recoil. Sold in Maria shop for a price. Can be bought early.
-Maxim 9: The reward of reaching echelon level 10, or can be bought in maria shop (different skinned variant). The stealth pistol of my choice (I and still considered the best in the game). Integrally surppressed (didn't get -20% dmg reduction), and has one of the highest accuracy and range in the league. While the recoil is not as good as mk23, it's still manageable.

Daredevil to get:
-P320: Highly accurate, good overall stat and can be obtained for free, this pistol blueprint is located in a behemoth defense area. If you can sneak and grab the pistol, or defeat the behemoth early, go ahead. It's way better than your starter pistol in any case.

And this. Those two are actually because the tactical setting, not because you are playing immersive mode. Change your ghost experience parameter for this.
Also, for starter, I recommend using full hud, then turning off or adjust HUDs in "custom" based on the full HUD. I also recommend Bivoac to be full (allow shop and vehicles) to let you buy grenade and weapons on the wilderness's camping areas.
