Though i have just put in the launch option field and that seems to be working so far.
My next plan was going to be deleting the vulkan executable, copying the DX11 executable and renaming it the same as the vulkan exe.
Yeah i have tried all of those things as well, it doesnt work for me unfortunately
I tried that and then launch it the regular taskbar way and it just auto opened vulkan anyway.
I can say that if you delete the Vulkan exe you might need to either fish it out of the rycle bin or verify you game,
It should still run i'd imagine, if you make a copy of the DX11 version and just rename it to GRB_vulkan.exe, then if it tries to run vulkan it will actually be DX11.
Also, on advance options try disabling the steam overlay.
I cleared out the launch options there
Deleted the vulkan exe
and disabled overlay.
The game just ran for me.

Try adding this line to Properties>Launch Options in Steam Library for Breakpoint. Add your directory path to GRB.exe
Example with quotation marks
"D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Ghost Recon Breakpoint\GRB.exe" %command%
Will bring up the launch option box to choose between Vulkan and DX11 when starting game and does not ignore the API choice.
that made it so I can "quick" launch my game from steam no issue!
My issue wasn't that I didn't get a choice at launch on steam, the issue is I couldn't quick launch from steam/shortcuts without getting in to the vulkan exe.
on steam just click the cogwheel/settings for breakpoint, properties, and change the launch option to "always ask", and always run the game trough steam library, and when you run it, click dx11 and DO NOT CLICK the "remember this launch setting" button, cuz that doesnt do ♥♥♥♥. Its an easy solution, and it works tho. Its not that hard if you are not lazy enough to not open steam lol
This is what i was told multiple times, i did not have this option OR get this option, so i have to go through hoops to get steam to not open the game in Vulkan
Believe me, I tried this and all the other things suggested everywhere, non worked, maybe now a couple of months after the release something has changed sure, but non worked on release for me, which is why I made this thread to begin with. This is simply now a thread about a different solution if people could not/cannot get the properties and other solutions to work
