Classic or exploration mode? Dynamic or tactical combat?
What are the differences?

My recommendation: сlassic and dynamic.

Classic is the story mode and exploration is the sandbox mode.

I'm not really sure about the differences between Dynamic and tactical as I have always just used Dynamic.

It'd be nice if the dev cleared this up. I'm also interested in knowing what the difference is between dynamic and tactical combat.

No, Exploration means easier Quests most time limits are removed or you get more time.
Read the tooltips is your friend. I use Exploration and still have the story on.

Dynamic/Tactical on the other hand is not very well explained.
