There is another discussion about having three different levels of grenade throws (throw, toss, roll), and that might conflict with something like this.
I dunno.
But if they just implement manual cooking I am happy.
Three levels of throwing would be awesome, but they should speed up animations according to force required for throw, long range throw should be a bit slower, whereas toss and roll should be nice and quick animations.
I would also like to see CSGO-like controls with a dedicated number button mapped to each gadget. I dont like haveing to press 4 to cycle between two types of grenades its kind of weird. They should leave it for people that like it, but allow people like me to just map a different key each grenade.
I support this idea mainly because it's hard to aim flashbangs since the fuse is so short on them. On frags you have the time to line up your shot, but with flashbangs you feel a little 'rushed' since it's either going to go off in your hand or bounce back at you.
I don't know what having 3 types of throws would really add to the game... I use overhand for throwing most grenades and underhand for destroying caches. I don't see what a third option would really add since most people don't know/don't use the existing underhand throw. A dedicated "cook" key though, I could see that being used.
Kind of funny isnt it? It's all flipped around and wrong... lol.... (I may be wrong about the molotovs never blowing up in your hand, I haven't checked but I am pretty sure they would in real life... I certainly wouldnt want to be holding one of those for too long).
Two throwing levels should be fine too, over the shoulder throw and under the shoulder throw, I dont really think we need a "bowling roll" kind of throw to be honest, but I wouldnt mind having it either.
Isn't there already a "roll", sure I used that during the games "training" mode? I might be wrong though?
The roll would be awesome for situations like the crack low down on the floor of the middle building in PanJ.
Grenade throwing without cooking (cancelable) :
keep press mouse 1 : the player remove the grenade pin, he keeps the pin around his finger and maintain the safety lever with his other hand. allowing him to put the pin back to cancel his throwing.
- scroll click while maintaining mouse 1 to put back the pin and switch weapon.
or
- release mouse 1 to throw the uncooked grenade.
Grenade throwing with cooking (not cancelable) :
keep press mouse 2 : the player remove the pin and release the safety lever, the countdown start without possibility to cancel the action. release mouse 2 to throw the cooked grenade.
It's according to me a superior system that really need to be (re) added to the game.
this thread is talking about a nade system that is no longer used.
today you can pull the pin and hold the spoon or pull both and start the fuse.
