M4A1 vs M16A4
Guys, what are advantages for using M4A1 which cost 3 points instead of 1 pt?

I find M16A4 performing much better in every situation and I feel either M16 is too cheap or M4A1 is too expensive.

I find myself tap firing most of the times in this game and M16 is just more accurate with its burst mode rather than tap firing M4A1...

Do you use M4A1?

Closer quarters I always prefer full auto.
Also I think the prices of 1 and 3 points don't apply to every class.

Full auto in close quarters is where the M4A1 will give you an edge. But I mostly prefer M16A4 on burst.

The M4 is far superior at close quarters. Doesn't mean the M16 can't do it either, but an automatic weapon is easier overall in such situations.

I use and prefer the M4A1. Full auto only, and a quick tap for a single shot. I play very aggresively in Coop and that's prolly why I like it. When I'm bored...I change to Mk18.
I'd carry the M16A4 if it had a full auto option.

The m4 is also shorter which can be useful in the right situations.

In PvP I prefer the M16 but will use an M4 if needed, coop it's M16A4 or M249 only.

I preffer both. M16A1 is an awesome weapon for its low point cost. Anyone saying it sucks in close quarters never used it properly. One burst fire and you can kill two people.

M4A1 is more expensive and it worths the points once you can afford it. The damage is same but M4A1 is fully automatic.

Full auto isn't a major advantage unless you hipfire spray alot IMO.

Compare M16, M4, MK18 in one table.
Thanks, It's helpful and very informative.
At my age...the only two things that 'save me' are full auto and the little blue pill. :)

* M16A4, not A1. Otherwise you'd have 20rnd square mags, not 30 round stanags.

I personally prefer full auto for CQB, put I like to pray and spray a lot. M16 is great for long range though, and I'll pick that if I'm playing any of the bigger maps or want the challenge. Burst fire on the M16 is really good for those CQB, but if I have the choice I'll go for AK74, UMP or M4 any day.

I use M16 most of the time, for the same cost of an M4/Mk18 you can get an M16 with a foregrip in co-op. You can fire burst-fire fast enough to compensate as a form of full-auto in close range if needed and with that foregrip it's really controllable. M4/Mk18 without foregrips can go wild after the 2nd shot, more than I'd like. So yeah typically for the cost M16 is the top choice for general use. If you want a cheap full-auto option then go for the Mini-14, costs 2 points instead of 3. Also has increased accuracy but I think the mags are only 20rd capacity, still it's a good way to rock full-auto on the cheap. You just have to watch out when bots swarm you and make sure to have a sidearm at all times with the Mini-14 more so than the M4/M16.

I like the M4A1 mostly for Co-Op, but i don't use it much in PvP
