C4 not exploding

When I throw a C4 and leave it for a while, I will reequip it and then when I go to set it off nothing happens

If you're too far away, it won't work. Also, sometimes enemies will blow it up with explosions of their own (frags, IED, RPG, etc.)

The other explodives thing is unrealistic since they are only detonated through an electric pulse but its video games

I wasn't resupplying. My best guess is that the C4 despawned somehow

The electric pulse detonates the blasting cap which then uses an explosion to detonate the C-4.

It probably got blown up by another explosive, you have to be careful where you lay C4 so it doesn't get caught in grenade crossfire. Enemies can even use it against you.

you can also det c4 with any high energy impluse.

another explosion or impact from a high calibre round will do the job just as well.
