You probably are having trouble playing on multiplayer because some servers haven't updated to the current version yet.

There's really no reason to disable BattlEye, and if anything it would make it harder to play multiplayer since it's enabled by default in all the official playlists (Tactical, Sustained, etc.)

I believe admins can opt-out of BattlEye by setting sv_battleye 0 on their server, but I have no idea why any admin would want to do that or if it's even possible without also setting sv_playlist to custom at the same time.

Either way, all around you'd only be making things more difficult by disabling it on your end since 99% of the servers are going to require it.

You can uninstall BattlEye using a batch file found in the BattlEye folder called > "Uninstall_BattlEye.bat".

Under Win10 I found it here:

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\BattlEye

I have done this but now Insurgency is a mess. I was getting error messages that an executable was missing, so checked my files and this did not fix it initially.

I could not launch from the Steam menu as even if I opted to "Cancel" there would be a BattlEye pop-up window stating the game failed to launch.

Finally I went to the the Insurgency2 folder and clicked on the "insurgency.exe" executable and after a long freeze I had to END TASK via the the Task Manager. I then tried again and the game loaded this time. The Steam menu is still broken to launch the game.

I have to say this is an epic failure of a patch, maybe the worst I've seen in 20 years of gaming.

My primary interest in getting rid of BE was because it was blocking certain files of my anti-malware program (EMSISOFT AM) from being loaded. That is a show stopper for me. I was really enjoying this game too.

So if I automatically updated (as I did today), BE would already be installed or would I have to manually install it?

Thanks

A window popped up for me when I started the game after the update.

What happens is that I try to get on a multiplayer server, and then the map loads which seems all fine, until at one point during the loading process, the screen just blacks out for no reason. This only happens in multiplayer, I tried to get on a co-op server and it worked just fine :) I also disabled all my mods too, and my pc specs are more than adequate to play (i have been playing it on all the graphical settings maxed out), so Im really confused as to what I should do because I really like Insurgency for the multiplayer, otherwise I would've just quit already.

Thanks!

P.S: This is my computer's specs:
