This "guide" does not work as intendended.
Commands like "ins_bot_add_team_1" return an error stating that no such command exists.
"bot_difficulty 1" does not work either, for example.
Perhaps these commands were for a differnet version of the game, or just Counter-Strike, and they do not work for Insurgency.
"ins_bot_quota <number of bots>" does work, but in my testing, the bots simply stand in one position, and do not move.

I think that what is problematic, is that before I bought the game, I checked to see if there was bot support, and I found the guide mentioned here. So, I bought the game. It is very frusterating to find out that this guide does not work, and my money was wasted.
Please help.

Can the DEVS please shed some light on this issue?

It's stupid we have to do console commands to set up a cooperative game. That needs attention.

I just dont understand as i see plenty of coop servers online that work perfectly, but i just want to know how they got it to work, its obviously not easy and if it is im missing something

Have you resolved this yet? If not ill ask one of the devs or a community member to post here tomorrow and help you get it setup.
CrazyQ 30 DIC 2013 a las 17:58
No not yet, it would be much appreciated if you can do that for me :)

To make a coop server the main thing is just changing to a coop map. The whole bot add thing is more for pvp bots, which arent' fully functional at the moment.

For coop servers, add _coop to the map name so it would be "changelevel market_coop checkpoint". This changes you to a coop map and sets the mode to "checkpoint" which is the main coop mode. It also executes the /cfg/server_checkpoint.cfg config.

The variables that kick in (currently, pre-release and may change by release) are:
mp_coop_lobbysize - sets the number of humans allowed
mp_coop_min_bots - sets how many bots will be against a single human
mp_coop_max_bots - sets max bots, should be max players - lobbysize
ins_bot_difficulty - sets the bot difficulty from 1 to 3

thanks for bringing this to my attention skcire09!

It's nice that this information is printed in this forum thread.
I hope all the people who might want to know this will happen to find this thread.
Great support for single player in this game. I have high-hopes!

This appears to work with Coop single player offline mode but how to put a dedicated coop server online. The server_checkpoint.cfg won't load in multiplayer in server console message
NaughtyBoy 2 ENE 2014 a las 7:47
All sorted. Made the mistake of thinking maxplayers should be set to 6 players for coop. Set it to 32 & all good now.

Thanks eXnihilo and skcire09

I have copied everything you said and it works perfectly but one little problem.

mp_coop_min_bots is set to 3 and when i join the server 3 bots join also, great, but when another player joins the bot number does not seem to increase, it just stays at 3 bots

Is there something else i am missing?
