Commands like "ins_bot_add_team_1" return an error stating that no such command exists.
"bot_difficulty 1" does not work either, for example.
Perhaps these commands were for a differnet version of the game, or just Counter-Strike, and they do not work for Insurgency.
"ins_bot_quota <number of bots>" does work, but in my testing, the bots simply stand in one position, and do not move.
I think that what is problematic, is that before I bought the game, I checked to see if there was bot support, and I found the guide mentioned here. So, I bought the game. It is very frusterating to find out that this guide does not work, and my money was wasted.
Please help.
For coop servers, add _coop to the map name so it would be "changelevel market_coop checkpoint". This changes you to a coop map and sets the mode to "checkpoint" which is the main coop mode. It also executes the /cfg/server_checkpoint.cfg config.
The variables that kick in (currently, pre-release and may change by release) are:
mp_coop_lobbysize - sets the number of humans allowed
mp_coop_min_bots - sets how many bots will be against a single human
mp_coop_max_bots - sets max bots, should be max players - lobbysize
ins_bot_difficulty - sets the bot difficulty from 1 to 3
thanks for bringing this to my attention skcire09!
I hope all the people who might want to know this will happen to find this thread.
Great support for single player in this game. I have high-hopes!
I have copied everything you said and it works perfectly but one little problem.
mp_coop_min_bots is set to 3 and when i join the server 3 bots join also, great, but when another player joins the bot number does not seem to increase, it just stays at 3 bots
Is there something else i am missing?
