Can't zoom in

Is there a key to control zoom? I have a Synaptics touchpad, and for whatever reason, this game doesn't recognize the virtual scroll wheel.
"Derp, get a REAL mouse!" I hear you cry. Well, I can't. I'm Stephen Hawking level physically disabled, and 1 corner of my laptops touchpad is all I can use. If there's a key, then I can hit it using my on-screen keyboard.

This isn't the 1st game that I've had this problem with, but unless I can find a work around, I just blew $40. :(

Try binding zoom to a key or something. Honestly though, i have no idea what to do as I have never had this problem.

Yes I stumbled on a Zoom key last night but don't remember which one it is. Try pressing some common keys - like around the WASD keys.

Has anone discovered a keyboard shortcut to zoom in and out? My mouse has no scroll wheel and I don't see an option to bind this to a key.

I wasn't able to find a hotkey, but I did find a script that runs through the program AutoHotkey to emulate a mouse wheel. Before I post a link, I should state as a disclaimer that some games don't like AutoHotkey, as there are many unscrupulous gamers who use it to cheat. That stated, AutoHotkey in itself is NOT a cheater program. Merely a utility program. Here's some links, and some really basic directions in case you've never used it:

Directions:
1. Download auto hotkey, and install it anywhere.

2. Copy this script from the above link, and paste it into a new text document.

3. Save the text document as (whatever you want).ahk. Windows will ask you if you're sure you want to rename the file type, click yes.

4. Double-click, or right-click and select run on your new .ahk file. A green and white each icon will appear on your taskbar, letting you know that the script is running. Good luck!

I also have the same problem...playing on a Laptop with no mouse wheel. Am new to the game, but it does seem to make it a lot harder zoomed out!

Thanks for the Link Icerazor...however, am having a tough time getting my head around the Computer Speak. Its all a bit much for me to get my head around.The link takes me to a web page with allsorts of techie speak on it...Has anyone got this to work, and if so, would it be possible to copy/paste it here please..?

Are you not able to use a mouse (w/a wheel) with your laptop or...? You can find them for $10 at Wal-Mart if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Its not the money guys..I do have ect mouse.

i work away a lot and tend to end up gaming in Airports, Train Stations, Cafes etc so whilst I can use an ext mouse, a mouse doesnt work too well with the Laptop on my Lap! Hence I was interested in the workaround by Ice Razor above,,,,but its just a bit above my Compter Tech level.

Just been told that Control w/s zooms in and out....Control Left/ Right Rotates Camera

I found something weird. I played it on Windows 8. Basically WASD keys works for moving camera but it has been changed as works for rotate, zoom-in and zoom-out when I came back to the game from other program by switching ALT-TAB key.

I think + and - on the numpad work.
