2560x1080 not fullscreen
Hi Capcom

Many thanks for the quick patch to support 2560x1080 resolution.

However the game does not run fullscreen I still get large black pillar borders down either side. Is there a way to enable full screen support at 2560x1080?

Resident Evil 5 and 6 support fullscreen 2560x1080 so I had hoped this would also.

Any help much appreciated.

Go to C:\Users\***your_username***\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS

Open config.ini

change Aspect=16:9 to 64:27

Thanks for trying to help.

Unfortunately it didn't work the game was still in 16:9 and the ini file reverted back to that after I launched the game.

Just an idea.. Did you try to write protect the file maybe?

I was hesitent to set it to read only as it crashed the game previously when I tried to edit the res before they patched it.

However I set it to read only as you suggested and this time the ini file kept that res after launching and closing.

Sadly in game it made no difference.

Yeah that resolution is considered 21:9 as far as I know, not that weird other one. Try that as the Aspect in the .ini

Because 2560:1080 = 64:27

21:9 is a (wrong) approximation used for marketing.

It's not a question of which is more correct. It's more widely known as 21:9, and more to the point he already tried Aspect=64:27 to no avail, ergo he should see if Aspect=21:9 works in the .ini

I'm just explaining how the 64:27 came to be :P

- If the engine uses the aspect ratio as a multiplier of sorts, the "more widely known" AR shouldn't make a difference (other than looking slightly wrong compared to the more accurate one).

- If the engine needs a AR hardcoded in it in order to be recognized and used (which seems to be the case), then I doubt 21:9 will be recognized either.

But of course he should try it! :)

Doomed was right guys I have played a few other games that support that 64:27 ratio I think the game Rage by ID software sets that aspect ratio aurtomaticaly when you enable 2560x1080 res and I have seen it in another game so I knew what he meant.

Although I did also try editing thr Resi ini to 21:9 but sadly again no good.

I may have to wait for a possible fix from Capcom. It's a shame as I know that there are a few of us on here with these 21:9 monitors now.
I am having the same issue. Aspect Ratio keeps kicking back to 16:9 :(

I'm having the same trouble (kind of) in "Resdent Evil Biohazard 5".

It seems to think my screen is 2560x1280 or something because the bottom of the image is pushed down off the screen as if it were trying to render to a larger frame.


I tried all of the suggestions here but noting. There is no .ini file in users\*MyName*\AppData etc. for me the config.ini is in "C:\Users\*name*\Documents\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\

The config file contains only one entry with "Aspect..." in it and that's "AdjustAspect=OFF".

I've tried changing it to ON which made no difference and I tried adding Aspect=21:9 as well as 64:27 and nothing has any affect at all.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much bro. Indeed, Aspect=DEFAULT works. Also set the refresh rate to 144.
I've set the ini file to Read-Only.
However, a few visual effects won't be 21:9 (such has fade-in or fade-out), nothing much important.

Have you guys tried the widescreen fix mod? its just an application that you run in the background and it corrects widescreen issues. I used in RE6 and it enhanced FOV and made cutscenes 21:9 as well (or 64:27 based on this thread lmao). Program is called Flawless Widescreen
